To see our children happy is the goal of every parent and in my particular case to see them doing things they love and enjoy is something that fills my soul.

Those who have read me before know that I have a nine year old doll who has loved ballet since she was very young, in fact she has been practicing it since she was three years old.
She had a break of two years due to some difficulties but this year she was able to take it up again, which made her really happy and she enjoys it so much that she counts the days to be able to go to classes and one of the things she loves the most is to be able to attend the presentations.
With her previous school in three years she had three performances of the Nutcracker playing different characters and others as a closing of the year directed mostly to parents so we could have a sample of the children's progress.
Unfortunately this school closed its headquarters in La Asuncion and the new location is very far away so we decided to enroll in a new academy a little closer to home.
Los que me han leído antes saben que tengo una muñequita de nueve años que desde muy pequeña ama el Ballet, de hecho desde los tres años lo practica.
Tuvo una pausa de dos años por algunas dificultades pero éste año lo pudo retomar, cosa que la hizo realmente feliz y es que ella lo disfruta tanto que cuenta los días para poder ir a clases y una de las cosas que más ama es poder asistir a las presentaciones.
Con su anterior escuela en tres años tuvo tres puestas en escena del Cascanueces interpretando distintos personajes y otras como cierre de año dirigidas más que todo a los padres para que pudiésemos tener una muestra de los avances de los niños.
Lamentablemente esta escuela cerró su sede en La Asunción y la nueva sede nos queda muy alejada por lo que decidimos inscribirla en una nueva academia un poco más cerca de casa.
She was happy even though it was not the same place because she is doing what she likes. And when they informed her that they would have their first performance you can't imagine her excitement. She really tried hard in every rehearsal but unfortunately two days before the performance she got sick and couldn't attend.
Everyone at home got Covid and we were sick for two weeks so all the excitement she had about wearing her new tutu had to wait.
As I told you in the post where I talked about this experience, Miranda didn't complicate things, she is like that, if she couldn't make it she can, that's her philosophy hahaha and finally she did!
They would have a new presentation that although it was without tutu since it was only an "Open Class " she was going to have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, so she was happy.
In that, she really doesn't look like me or her dad. I was for years in the Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil y Juvenil, both in Güiria, Sucre state, and in Margarita and every time they said "concert " I panicked haha. Miranda on the contrary enjoys it.
The open class was basically a demonstration to the parents of the girls' learning at this time, so two people per student were allowed to enter. Unfortunately for work reasons my husband was unable to attend and since no children were allowed I didn't want to bring Matias either, although I did see boys his age later on.
Ella estaba feliz aunque no se tratase del mismo lugar pues está haciendo lo que le gusta. Y cuando le informaron que tendrían su primera presentación no se pueden imaginar su emoción. La verdad se esforzó bastante en cada ensayo pero lamentablemente dos días antes de la presentación se enfermó y no pudo asistir.
Todos en casa contrajimos Covid y estuvimos dos semanas enfermos así que toda la ilusión que tenía de usar su tutú nuevo tuvo que esperar.
Como ya les comenté en su oportunidad en el post en el que hablé sobre ésta experiencia, Miranda no se complicó, ella es así, si no se pudo ya se podrá, esa es su filosofía jajaja y finalmente así fue!
Tendrían una nueva presentación que aunque era sin tutú ya que se trataba sólo de una "Clase Abierta" iba a tener la oportunidad de presentarse ante un público, así que estaba feliz.
En eso la verdad no sé parece a mí ni a su papá. Yo estuve por años en la Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil y Juvenil, tanto de Güiria, estado Sucre, como en Margarita y cada vez que decían "concierto" me daba pánico jaja. Miranda al contrario lo disfruta.
La clase abierta era básicamente una demostración a los padres del aprendizaje de las niñas en este tiempo, por lo que se permitió la entrada de dos personas por estudiante. Lamentablemente por temas de trabajo mí esposo no pudo asistir y al no permitir la entrada de niños tampoco quise llevar a Matías, aunque luego ví chicos de su edad.
That day was very hectic because I had work to deliver and we had to be at the theater at one o'clock and something that is important to me is to be punctual. Teaching children by example principles and values is fundamental, so I always do my best to be on time for any event that has an established time, it is the only way my children learn to be responsible, respect the rules and value the time of others.
Lunch was late because I was busy and my husband was at work, so I had no help that day. Miranda finished her lunch on the way to the theater in the car, in fact she told me she would only eat a little bit because she didn't want to be full for the presentation and I left without lunch, all in order to arrive on time and at one o'clock we were at the theater.
When we arrived, the theater was full of blue dancers everywhere, from the youngest to teenagers. You could see them so excited practicing their steps, putting on their shoes and chatting with each other that I relived again beautiful moments with the former school.
Ese día fue muy agitado porque tenía trabajo pendiente por entregar y debíamos estar a la una en el teatro y algo que para mí es importante es cumplir con la puntualidad. Enseñar a los niños por medio del ejemplo principios y valores es fundamental, así que siempre hago lo posible por llegar a tiempo a cualquier evento que tenga hora establecida, es la única manera en que mis hijos aprendan a ser responsables, respetar las normas y valorar el tiempo de los demás.
La comida estuvo tarde porque yo estaba ocupada y mi esposo en su trabajo, así que ése día no tuve ayuda. Miranda terminó su almuerzo de camino al teatro en el carro, de hecho me dijo comería sólo un poco porque no quería estar llena para la presentación y yo me fui sin almorzar, todo con tal de llegar a la hora y a la una en punto estábamos en el teatro.
Cuando llegamos, el teatro estaba lleno de bailarinas azules por todos lados, desde las más pequeñas hasta adolescentes. Se las veía tan emocionadas practicando sus pasos, colocando sus zapatillas y conversando entre ellas que reviví nuevamente momentos hermosos con la anterior escuela.
Unfortunately punctuality is not seen in the same way by everyone so even when they said one o'clock the academy ended up calling the girls to the room at one thirty and even after that many more arrived.
Finally after two o'clock in the afternoon they allowed the representatives access to the theater room and explained the order of the presentation.
There would be four groups; the first would be Initiation to Dance, the second group Prepatory I, the third group Prepaeatory II (Miranda reached that level in the previous school) and the fourth group was made up of the Advanced level.
Before entering I asked Miranda if she was nervous and she said she was not.
she was nervous and she said no, so the only one nervous was me and I wasn't going to dance hahaha, so I tried to breathe and sat down to wait for her turn.
The presentations went slowly and we could see the girls of the different levels demonstrating the skills they had acquired so far. For me it is always the turn of the little ones that I enjoy the most in any activity and in this particular case they look so beautiful as little girls doing their steps. So I enjoyed every performance.
Lamentablemente la puntualidad no todos la ven de la misma manera así que aún cuando dijeron a la una la academia terminó llamando a las niñas a la sala a la una y media e incluso después de eso llegaron muchas más.
Finalmente pasadas las dos de la tarde permitieron el acceso a los representantes a la sala del teatro y explicaron el orden que llevaría la presentación.
Serían cuatro grupos; el primero sería el de Iniciación a la Danza, el segundo grupo Prepatatorio I, el tercer grupo Prepaeatorio II (hasta ese nivel llegó Miranda en la anterior escuela) y el cuarto grupo estaba conformado por el nivel Avanzado.
Antes de entrar le pregunté a Miranda si
estaba nerviosa y me dijo que no, así que la única nerviosa era yo y no iba a bailar jajaja, así que traté de respirar y me senté a esperar su turno.
Las presentaciones transcurrían lentamente y podíamos ver a las nenas de los distintos niveles demostrar las destrezas adquiridas hasta ahora. Para mí siempre el turno de los más pequeños es el que más disfruto en cualquier actividad y en éste caso particular se ven demasiado bellas tan chiquitas hacer sus pasos. Así que disfruté cada presentación.
Finally the girls from Preparatory II got up, group to which I thought Miranda belonged because they were girls her age, but to my surprise she didn't go up with them.
I didn't worry because I saw that her classmates were still sitting next to her but I wondered which group she was in, because for me the advanced class was the Teenagers and it turned out that Miranda was in that group!
So they call the last group and there Miranda stands up. They had a number on their uniform because they would be evaluated, since they would not only perform routines already practiced in class but they would be given new movements in order to evaluate their capabilities and advance in level.
In the presentation I did not see her very confident and that has a reason to be, since due to the Covid she could not attend two of the three weeks prior to the presentation, however, she did the usual movements very well and managed to follow the new ones that the teacher assigned for the presentation asked them to do.
Finalmente se levantan las chicas de Preparatorio II, grupo al cual pensé pertenecía Miranda pues eran niñas de su edad, pero para mí sorpresa no subió con ellas.
No me preocupé porque ví que sus compañeras seguían sentadas a su lado pero me pregunté en qué grupo estaba entonces, porque para mí las de la clase avanzada eran las Adolescentes y resultó que Miranda estaba en ése grupo!!
Así que llaman al último grupo y ahí se levanta Miranda. Ellas tenían una numeración en el uniforme pues serían evaluadas, ya que no sólo realizarían rutinas de las ya practicadas en clases sino que les darían movimientos nuevos con la finalidad de evaluar sus capacidades y avanzar de nivel.
En la presentación no la ví muy segura y eso tiene una razón de ser, ya que por el Covid no pudo asistir a dos de las tres semanas previas a la presentación, sin embargo los movimientos de siempre los hizo muy bien y logró seguir los nuevos que la maestra asignada para la presentación les pidió hacer.
I was happy and very proud to see her standing there again on the stage of that theater since it was where she made her first presentations when she was only three years old and to see that day that although she entered the academy in March (much later than the others) she had done very well despite the advantage that the other girls had over her.
Definitely her time at Ballet de la Mar sowed good bases in her, so much so that after the evaluation made to enter this new school she was incorporated to the advanced level, which is really wonderful. I hope that this new year her health will not be as affected as it was during this period and she will be able to attend more regularly. But so far both she and we are happy.
Unfortunately Miranda was not in that group, since one of the requirements was the participation in the presentation which she could not attend because she was sick (even though I sent medical rest and they knew the reason for her absence) but at least they were kind enough to warn her so that Miranda would be forewarned.
They called all the girls and finally those who did not attend the presentation were given a certificate for their participation in the open class.
Yo estaba feliz y muy orgullosa de verla ahí parada nuevamente sobre las tablas de ése teatro ya que fué donde realizó sus primeras presentaciones con apenas tres años y ver ése día que aunque ingresó en el mes de marzo a la academia (mucho más tarde que las demás) lo había hecho súper bien a pesar de la ventaja que le llevan las otras niñas.
Definitivamente su paso por Ballet de la Mar sembró buenas bases en ella, tanto así que después de la evaluación realizada para ingresar a esta nueva escuela la incorporaron al nivel avanzado, cosa que es realmente maravilloso. Espero que este nuevo año su salud no se vea tan afectada como nos tocó durante éste periodo y pueda asistir con más regularidad. Pero hasta ahora tanto ella como nosotros estamos felices.
Para finalizar la actividad hicieron entrega de reconocimientos a las niñas que aprobaron el año y lamentablemente Miranda no estuvo en ése grupo, ya que uno de los requisitos era la participación en la presentación a la que no pudo asistir por estar enferma (aún cuando envié reposo médico y sabían el motivo dd su ausencia) pero por lo menos tuvieron la delicadeza de avisar para que Miranda estuviese prevenida.
Llamaron a todas las niñas y finalmente a las que no asistieron a la presentación se les entregó un certificado por la participación en la clase abierta.
In the advanced group there were three girls who received their certificate for passing the first level of teacher training and it makes me very happy that Miranda is in that group with more advanced girls because she has the opportunity to learn from them and improve every day.
So despite the rush to get there and the fact that we had to rush home because I still had some work to do, we left happy. Finally my blue dancer had her presentation. Seeing her happy face and feeling her excitement made it all worth it.

En el grupo avanzado estaban tres chicas que recibieron su certificado por aprobar el primer nivel del entrenamiento para ser maestras y la verdad me hace muy feliz que Miranda esté en ése grupo con chicas más avanzadas porque tiene la oportunidad de aprender de ellas y mejorar cada día más.
Así que pesar de las carreras para llegar y que tuvimos que salir también corriendo a casa porque aún yo tenía trabajo pendiente nos fuimos felices. Finalmente mi bailarina azul tuvo su presentación. Ver su carita de felicidad y sentir su emoción hicieron que todo valiera la pena.
