Hi there! On the above shows the 13th birthday of our little princess. This marked her entry into the teenager's world. Her mom was still on duty so we have to wait for her for her late dinner celebration.
Nevertheless, granny me prepared her favorite pancakes with honey syrup to greet her when she woke up. It was a simple gesture with lots of love sprinkled all over it.
Well, gatherings are prohibited and since there were only the three of us at home, we opted to dine out at the restobar on her natal day. Her mom sent us 500php for a simple snack but I wanted some extras so I asked my friend @olivia08 to exchange my hive tokens for extra orders. LoL! They ordered their favorite chicken inasal (roasted chicken) plus mango shake while I ordered my favorite Chopsuey and Nachos. The best thing is that we enjoyed free internet connection.
At last, her mom arrived. She already made reservations and ordered Antonia's birthday cake. Family order is much cheaper compared to regular orders.
I felt the warmth in my heart seeing them together. Thank God to modern technology. We still managed to communicate with each other.
Our food reservation covered A set of beef stew, fresh vegetable salad, crispy squid rings, crispy fried chicken and 1 liter iced tea. We cannot invite more friends due to safety protocols. The most important part is that the celebration was a success.
Just imagine the time her mom was stranded in Cebu during the lockdown.
The sacrifice of a mother
She had her 8-month German lessons there so she needed to do some extra job after her class (3hrs/day). She recently came home when she was assigned in Negros Island to supervise in the different branches of their Beauty Clinic while she continued with he medical studies in German Language. Being a single mom was not easy. We were there for them and we parents of both sides agreed to let the child visit them occasionally. Rich as they were, we couldn't sacrifice our daughter to let them enter into matrimony whose son merely finished his first year in college and preferred his career in basketball rather than his studies! I see no future with them together and I can't let my daughter suffer the consequences just because she got pregnant! She'd already finished her nursing course anyway and all she needed was more focus and serious plans for the sake of her child because motherhood takes a lot of sacrifices. As a mother myself, I won't let my daughter be belittled just because she's a single mom. People may look down at us but we're here to protect each other.
It's a blessing in disguise that our princess is well loved despite the shortcomings of their parents, to at least cover-up for the gap. We never asked for their monetary support. If they handed her some pocket money, well and good!
She's a brilliant child both in academic and arts. She was in top 4 in their Special Science Class. Granny is here to support her with her outputs due to time constraint. As a reward, the other side gave her a new mobile and her mom promised another tour when time permits.
The fruits of labor has been served. Now her mom's employment contract as a nurse was recently approved. It was an answered prayer. I uttered a silent prayer for all the blessings and for being there for us despite the ordeal we've been through.
