How To Be Successful as A Working Mother

in Motherhood10 months ago (edited)

I have no idea how, if I did I’d be in some very remote community living with my family in a very beautiful castle or farm perhaps. Since I do not have a recipe for success, I thought I will share some of my challenges and also discuss how I intend to go about solving them in hopes of becoming successful.

First, I like working, and I also love taking care of my children by myself, unfortunately, today's world makes it difficult to achieve both at the same time. But with determination, and a little planning, nothing is impossible.

One important thing is always time management. I like how Hive gives me an opportunity to earn at my own pace. proper planning of my time will allow me to grow here. It however, seems that planning is not enough, because no matter how I set my alarm to work after the kids go to bed, I find it hard to work at night because I am exhausted as well.

From the above, I guess I should limit strenuous activities during the dat and get enough rest. I am more of a day time person, it will take more than planning to make that switch to become a night owl, and I am determined to make that happen. Here is how:

  1. Cofee at night!
It works like magic. Cofee, Coca cola, Black tea, they all keep me awake at night. So starting Today, I will give it a try.

  2. More Daytime Rest

Since I intend to be awake at night, it will be helpful to not get too tired before nightfall so I do not get fatigued.

Those are the only things that come to mind honestly. I wish I can think of more, but I would like to know what other working moms do to help them have a work-life balance.

It can be challenging, but we always find a way to provide for our kids

If you do end up having to write when tired, go ahead and do it. But don't post it. Save your work, then edit it when you have a lot of energy. Maybe when the kids are napping? The number one thing to remember is to never hit publish on something that you wrote without giving it a careful read later :) ...

As for staying awake, I find the best thing is to move around for a few minutes, then sit again. If you are still tired, you really need sleep.

oh my goodness, @threedotz... the struggle is REAL!!! Being a Mom is a full-time job. And you have a baby too! Not easy at all. Go easy on yourself. It's so easy to get sucked into this exhausting cycle of chasing one's tail to get things done and depriving ourselves of much-needed rest to stay up and carve out time for online activities. Much as I love writing, I have had to get realistic this past year and when my children have needed me more, I have had to step back from Hive... then when I get the chance... I jump back in. Rather than stressing over trying to post something every day, write just a couple of posts each week - nicely considered and structured ones, with time to edit. That way you aren't forcing yourself to be awake when you should be sleeping hehe. If you do this and then work smart and not hard by ensuring you get maximum exposure by writing in carefully selected communities, using good tags on your posts, and sharing your Hive content through Dreemport, you will still build a following within those communities and have the support of Dreemport to ensure guaranteed eyes on your posts. But please please make sure you get enough rest !LUV !Hug
