Hola queridos amigos de @motherhood, saludos y feliz día a todos, vengo en esta oportunidad para hablarles sobre una actividad que hice con mi hijo para lo que era preparativo de las fiestas de carnavales en su colegio, en el caso de su salón le ha tocado hacer una carroza decorada con máscaras de afroamericanos, para comenzar dicho proyecto a cada alumno le dieron una máscara en cartón que una representante se ofreció a realizar y a nosotros nos tocaba decorar.

En un principio pensé en pintarla nada más, pero después pensé que sería bueno que el practicara algunas técnicas que en su clase le han enseñado, para ello busqué papel lustrillo, de construcción, foami, colores, marcadores, pega, tijera, una pluma para decorar y el entusiasmo del gordo para lograr hacerlo juntos. Lo primero que hice fue cortarle en tiritas los colores amarillo, rojo y naranja para que decorara lo externo de la máscara, picando en pedacitos practicaba con la tijera, así a su vez decía los colores y pegaba uno a uno sin salirse de los bordes.

Luego de ello hice lo mismo con el papel lustrillo azul, en los anteriores ya había usado el de construcción, ya después aplicamos el lustrillo para que sintiera otra textura ahí ello lo rasgo para practicar otra técnica, así mismo con el verde pero para este le dije que hiciera unas bolitas, para que hiciera otra forma y pudiera tener una movilización motora en ese punto, me agrado que el mismo le gustara intervenir y al mismo tiempo mientras lo hacía estaba cantando, tratando de no salirse de los bordes y preguntando qué color iba en cada lugar, eso me hizo de tal manera reforzarle esa parte.

Ya después vinieron los detalles que fue apoyando con los colores y el marcador para que no se perdiera las formas que tienen este tipo de máscaras afroamericanas, las cuales escogieron porque quieren hacer estos carnavales con significados a lo que se refieren ser descendientes de este tipo de cultura, lo cual también les enseña a ellos conocer más de otras raíces, ya que al principio cuando íbamos a comenzar a decorar el gordo lo veía como un monstruo, entonces ahí aproveche, le fui explicando y enseñándole imágenes que pudiera entender mejor porque estas máscaras son de este estilo.

A la final fue divertido tanto para él como para mi poder decorar este tipo de presentación, no solo por el tiempo que pasamos juntos y aprendiendo colores y formas, sino también la manera en que íbamos dando vuelta a lo que la figura nos presentaba, una actividad que hicimos poco a poco, pero con mucho cariño y lo bueno es que le gusto como quedo, de tal manera el gusto que se dio al decir mamá yo participe.

At first I thought I would just paint it, but then I thought it would be good for him to practice some of the techniques he had been taught in his class, so I got some construction paper, foami, colors, markers, glue, scissors, a pen to decorate and his enthusiasm to do it together. The first thing I did was to cut into strips the yellow, red and orange colors for him to decorate the outside of the mask, chopping them into small pieces and practicing with the scissors, so he could say the colors and glue them one by one without leaving the edges.

After that I did the same with the blue lustrillo paper, in the previous ones I had already used the construction paper, and then we applied the lustrillo so that he could feel another texture, there he tore it to practice another technique, the same with the green one but for this one I told him to make some small balls, I was pleased that he liked to intervene and at the same time while he was doing it he was singing, trying not to get out of the edges and asking what color was in each place, that made me reinforce that part.

Then came the details that was supporting with the colors and the marker to not lose the shapes that have this type of African-American masks, which they chose because they want to make these carnivals with meanings that refer to being descendants of this type of culture, which also teaches them to know more about other roots, because at first when we were going to start decorating the fat man saw him as a monster, then I took advantage, I was explaining and showing him images that he could better understand why these masks are of this style.

In the end it was fun for both him and me to decorate this type of presentation, not only for the time we spent together and learning colors and shapes, but also the way we were turning what the figure presented to us, an activity that we did little by little, but with much affection and the good thing is that he liked how it turned out, so much so that he was happy to say mom, I participated.
