My mom and grandma were known for yelling at us each time we did something wrong. I preferred beating to the words they uttered while cursing. Words seemed to get to me faster than the physical torture. This shows how powerful the words we speak can be, it can break one or build him, it all depends on what we utter. I can think over what was said to me throughout the day whether positive or negative and this is why positive words can be a show of kindness to people around us.
A fair word can give hope to someone who has lost hope, a fair word creates no wound, rather it heals and serves as encouragement to the young and inexperienced. Sometimes all you need is someone who believes in him, someone who can tell him or her how proud they are to know him or affirm to him that he can do it.
Sometimes all it takes to be kind is to be fair with words. It doesn't cost one to be an encouragement and one who speaks nicely to people. Fair words break no bones, it only fixes what has been broken. Such repair may be what your neighbor and friends need or the woman next door. Kindness starts with the simple things we do, as long as it brightens the face of another or gives them hope to live another day. Our words can be powerful, it can be a weapon of destruction or a builder, a pain or a relief. But as long as we practice kindness, speaking fairly is a key.
Well said.
Words go deeper compared to a sharpened double edged sword
