Fungi Friday: Heterobasidion Abietinum

Here, I would like to again contribute some photos for today's #fungifriday by @ewkaw.

Yesterday I visited my parents in Pidie Jaya. After shaking hands with them and chatting for a while, I took a walk in the backyard garden to just look around, maybe there is something I can take pictures of.

I saw a fungus growing on a tree trunk, I thought it was the genus Heterobasidion abietinum. Actually, I wanted to take lots of pictures, but even I couldn't stay in that place for more than 10 minutes, because I had to wrestle with so many mosquitoes that bite my body. so I can only take a few pictures.

mosquitos are harsh enemies of macro photography, I can totally confirm this!
I have personally same experience from one of my rare visits to the forest this summer. Once I took camera, it was July, I entered the fores and could spend there, literally, 15 minutes - and each photo I took was a single take, without too much focusing, after that I was running off the spot , in hope mosquitos squarm will leave me... but escape was successfull only when I escaped totally from the forest, hehe.

happy #FungiFriday to you!

@qwerrie LOL! Thank you for sharing your experience, I read it with laughter. With that experience, I don't think I have to go hunting for photos in the forest without bringing mosquito repellent lotion 😆

well, it depends on the season, I think? Mosquitos have copulation patterns, and after their peak have gone, you may find the forest being filled with peace and calm and not a single mosquit. and if there are crowds, and they are hungry... I DOUBT ANY REPELLENT WILL HELP :P

LOL! That's right, sometimes mosquito repellent lotion does not help much, maybe for the household mosquitoes it works to repel them, but their forest mosquitoes seem immune to mosquito repellent lotion. I often experience it when I go to the forest, they make me frustrated.

really cool ... successful
