Our company has grown up a bit by the fire. I won't even make a collage of photos, but I will post each one separately. Now is spring time and we were looking for the first spring mushrooms. Yes, spring is not an active mushroom season. But you can still find something if you are patient and persistent.
This mushroom by @ tych021 won't make it for lunch, but it can be dried and used for your health. At the very least, it enhances immunity, which means it is already useful.

Morels, what a spring without morels. If you are lucky enough to collect enough of these mushrooms, you can cook yourself a meal and treat your friends. I think our friend @ sketch.and.jam did just that.

@einfachnathi loves morels too. But he collects them in his beds in the "black forest". He probably knows some spells. But ask him about it yourself.

I don't know what our dear friend @qwerrie said, but he managed to find ... winter mushrooms in the spring. Apparently he has special abilities.

The largest mushroom was about 50x25 cm. Tree mushrooms are often large, but this one grew in a tier and was fantastic. A forest fire once happened at this place. The scale of the disaster was obviously significant. I looked around and saw a lot of charred stumps, and the trees here were big. All that is left for these mushrooms is to destroy what was not destroyed by fire. There is enough food for them here, so they grow here like multi-tiered giants.
The forest, of course, is a pity - a sad sight. But the most fantastic mushrooms grow here.
Yes, I'm sorry for the forest. I think that in most cases people are involved in such fires. It is sad.
But mushrooms are not sad. Nature will still take its toll.

Well, it wasn´t the biggest mushroom i´ve ever found but it sure was the biggest edible mushroom family (boletus edulis) at one place that i´ve found so far!
In Germany it`s only allowed to harvest 1 kg mushrooms per species per day but i still took this lovely group with me (what else could i do?!). I found them in Octobre 2019, it was a wonderful fungi-season and they were really delicious (:

By the way, a valuable medicinal mushroom. In our country, it is listed in the Red Book, as rare and protected by the state :)
That it needs to be protected and it's a rare beauty I knew. Thats why I was so amazed to find it as a total beginner. 'Cause I've seen a picture of it in a artcile I read about mycorrhizas and I was truly fascinated by it's appearance. But that it has healing abilities makes this find even more magical to me. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with me! <3

Autumn always surprises ...
The mushroom I saw first, and I was surprised by its size ... only a hat was sticking out of the grass ... And it reminded me a little of that mushroom from the story of Alice ... Where a caterpillar sits on a mushroom and makes rings of smoke ... ..🐛🌀
At one point, it was as if I was not in an ordinary forest, but wandered into a fairy tale..
Oh, this is a delicious mushroom. Great umbrella. It needs to be baked in batter in a frying pan. It tastes like poultry. Great find)

Here is my biggest edible mushroom find. My fiance is holding up this Calvatia gigantea for scale. These huge puffballs are perfect for making lasagne and pizza you can also dry and powder them for thickening soups. They can be found around here during the fall months after it rains alot. They seem to prefer dark forests and dark soil to grow in.
It looks like a big skull)) You can cut out the eye sockets, jaws and use it instead of a pumpkin for Halloween. We have never met such huge ones.
Imagine a spooky forest full of them on the ground.

I had different ideas which (documented) mushroom event in my life was the biggest... firstly I considered to show you this gigantic Porcini mushroom, matching my own head in its size -- which I found at Karelia land at a little rocky Ladoga island, but then I remembered about exceptionable 'Chaga' from my cemetary walk, and figured out it was bigger. Well, in our humid conditions mushrooms just do not stand for too long, they start to rot before they reach some considerable sizes.

Я вижу девушку в колпаке и сарафане.
Я вижу голову и плечи лесного духа (возможно Лешего). Глаза, нос, щёки, подбородок. Всё на месте.

А у нас, несколько дней назад только снег растаял...

У нас в лесах ещё полно снега. В городе да, сошёл, но сегодня ночью опять пытался взять реванш))
У нас зимы толком и не было, снег выпадал и таял, и так до первого апреля...
Реально не помню такого на своем веку)

у нас тоже вот только что. а лед еще местами валяется, и грязь тоже :) для тех грибов что любят воду - самое оно. сегодня планировалась поездка в лес на весь день, в Карелию, с глинтвейном и военно-спортивными играми, я уже и специи, и вайн, и три объектива приготовил с запасными аккумуляторами ... но у жены вдруг заболела нога, и дождь в прогнозе погоды. ЧЕРТОВСКИ ЖАЛЬ. обломилась моя надежда поискать весенние грибы В ЛЕСУ. эхехе.
С таким воодушевлением начал читать! Хотел пожелать наилучшего отдыха (ибо сам хочу рвануть на шашлык), но дочитав, понял что и поздравлять-то не с чем(((
У нас сегодня субботник пол дня был. опять похолодало, дождь, грязь, а мы занимаемся уборкой...
Ну хоть завтра отдохну)

а у тебя я помню были с футбольный мяч грибочки, хорошо мумифицированные - думаю, проблем не будет найти что показать по теме недели :-)

My biggest mushroom lately was a large artist's conk (Ganoderma applanatum) that I found at the base of a tree in a wetland. Based on the number of annual growth zones that I can see of it, it seems like it was in its 5th year of growth.
