Yeah the corals are hard to find at just the right time to harvest. Also in enough quantity. I know a few dead trees they grow on consistently in the spring. Though once i harvested them too late and had a bitter meal, it was a tolerable bitterness though lol.
Be sure they are crown tipped coral, there's a similar looking one with no crown tips that can cause stomach aches if eaten. They are my favorite tasting mushroom for taste and texture, too bad they have such a small window for harvesting.

Oh, I haven’t tasted them, how are they cooked correctly?
I recommend just panfrying in butter first to get the taste. Otherwise they can be cooked in soups or like any other mushroom.
