Today, after buying some stuff in one of the large supermarkets at the edge of the city, I passed through a magic tunnel that leads from the last houses of that suburban neighborhood to the rural landscape on the other side.

The day was hot from early in the morning, there wasn't much humidity in the last two months …

… so I was pretty surprised to find these mushrooms …
… in the dense vegetation by the narrow, unpaved road.

They grew on some old, rotting piece of wood. I did a bit of searching through the Internet, but I haven't found out the name of these mushrooms. I can't tell you the name of the species. Quite a few similar looking ones are present in the area. The mushrooms on these photographs are slightly desiccated, but for this hot summer conditions, they are in pretty good shape … in my opinion.
After the suburban asphalt, the shady atmosphere under the trees was refreshing and uplifting …
… so this short walk, definitely brought me some good stuff … a bit of respite, and an opportunity to be active in this community after a longer period of seasonal inactivity. Mushrooms are a rare commodity during the summer, here where I live.

I love those forest tunnels that lead to mushrooms. Just beware the biting flies and mosquitoes, though I bet you would just use them as macro photography subject matter.
;) True, mosquitoes pay with posing for every drop of blood they have taken!

The mushrooms look so beautiful. Such mushrooms do not grow in our regions. So I was the first to see mushrooms like this through your photography. And we have never seen mushrooms grow in our region in summer. The mushrooms looked very beautiful. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful photography.
Here the mushrooms are also rare in summer, these surprised me very much. It's interesting to see various plants and animals from various regions of the world here on HIVE. I enjoy that.

The environment is so nice for the fungal Nation. The mushrooms are almost old and decayed. But they look nice and yummy.

the mushrooms look good as you say despite the high temperatures per season, I like the last photo, that path looks a bit narrow, but what you see at the end inspires you to keep walking, it is a passageway adorned with nature, which makes it less gloomy, which is the property of all passageways.

Yes. I'm in the warm, seaside part of Croatia, and it's very unusual to find this kind of juicy mushrooms in summer. :D It's bordering with miracle. Summer is dry and hot here.
