Russula foetens - Stinking Russula

in Fungi Lovers2 years ago

Hi community,
here are some of shots of two great specimens of Russula foetens or a stinking russula which is hardly believable as these two young mushrooms had no distinct smell.

Considered inedible, some cultures eat it pickled once the bitterness is removed.

Seems, pizza courier will not work for you until you do some serious investments in this juicy smelly token 🍕 by the way, is this "Russula foetens or a stinking russula" edible? 🍄 judging by the name, it sims the answer is negative?

Thanks for the inquiry. Literature states different opinions. It is considered inedible unless treated(pickling). I personally haven't tried it. I am just fascinated with the looks of it. Staked 20 pizza on hive engine. Hope it works this time.
