Coprinus comatus
Sometimes I have a feeling that those mushrooms can fade and turn into a black goo so fast, I have to hurry with taking photos. And it is better to do it as soon as I find them. Don't leave it for later. They might not be there anymore.
It might be of course a slight exaggeration, but knowing that they do have only few hours of life in the daylight, I do prefer to shoot fast.
I found those in a huge lawn in a countryside. A place where some old cork oaks, olive trees and eucalyptuses grow. Patches of open space is enough for a good light too. Tall grass that is probably never mowed my humans (pigs and sheep do the job) and some bushes here and there. Perfect for mushroom and bugs hunting :)
Here is a cool video I found on youtube of them growing and then fading.
Shot with Nikon D5500 + Sigma 105mm lens

.That's getting right up close and personal with those fungi. Really great shots.
Thank you!
They grow in large families, and usually young specimens grow together with very old ones) And if I'm not mistaken, young specimens can be eaten ...
)))
That's what I read too. The young ones, before they open.
So that's the way it is)

Great photos and funny videos.
I had the opportunity to observe one family from start to finish, but it was not constant :)
Thanks!
There is quite a lot of them around here and I do see them at different stages. The drippy one is so cool :)
Try using this ink for painting :-)
