@bambuka brought in marvelous macro shots of various Russian forest fungi, from his walk after the rain. It was one of the 1st rains of the season, it made the dry soil wet, and - voyla! - mycelium have opened its eyes, and the fungi started to pop-up.

@hubbi had a very cool find that he identified as Marasmius siccus. Probably it is! The leaf platform really makes these macro captures special, dont miss this great post.

Every time I recognize this fungus on the cover of a new post, I tend to skip it; but after a few seconds still open it, and most of the times enjoy the visuals. This is the most well-spread fungus in the world, and maybe the champion - the most photographed one (except of the fancy Amanita muscaria). I feel sick and overfed with it, still cannot but admit: this gilled mushroom is very, very photo-friendly... This week we had Splitted Gill posts from @jasonmunapasee (above) and @teungkulik (below). (I swear, 50-100 more posts with this mushroom, and I will start putting these posts to bun. No, seriously!)

@arhat (to give him credit) this time was the start of a trend. He discovered those amazing fungi caled 'birds nest' - they have something like eggs inside of their fruiting bodies, -- ofc it is bags of spores. They mature and open when the water drops fall on its cap -- a very intresting spores distribution mechanism invented by nature.

More irresistable fungi cuteness, the same mushroom but Aceh forest, by @teungkulik. By the way -- it is a tough task to photograph this mushroom so clearly that the mushroom looks beautiful and its main "feature" is clear.

@jasonmunapasee can supply us with nice mushrooms of Aceh eight days a week, I am sure.

A long post from @deltasteem, filled with fungi weirdness - from the forest of Aceh, Indonesia.

If you love britlegill mushrooms, this post by @yetaras is for you. Personally, I prefer them baked in batter. But green mossy edition is very cool too.

Welcome to the #FungiFriday, fun challenge we have on Hive.
I hope many of you will join, as there are only 2 simple rules:

  • when Friday comes, share your fungi with us! post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, stolen images will be checked and reported !)
  • add #fungifriday (not necessarily must be your 1st tag) and post any community you like, that's all!
