This is an interesting idea regarding the usage of Rice straw for Mushroom production, I'm also a rice farmer, and it's true about dealing the rice straw after the harvest season is time-consuming in rice farming. One way to deal with it is to plow it out and irrigate your farm which will cover the entire area. This is early preparation for soil and makes the rice straw easily decompose and became an organic fertilizer.

Hopefully farmer understand that techniques better than burning there straws. This is happening right now in Luzon, people just burn it to ashes, although becomes fertilizer rich in nitrogen as the ashes but ecological and global warming impact could increase.
Thanks po
