in Fungi Lovers2 years ago

The species of this mushroom can be found in virtually every type of forest, often in clearings, along forest roads. It grows in groups, and appears in late spring and bears fruit until autumn.

The mushroom does not have a clearly separated cap and stem. The upper part of the mushroom is spherical and narrows towards the bottom, forming a kind of club, mace, inverted pear.

It can be quite large and reach about 15-18 cm in height. The young mushroom is a light white-gray color, with age it changes to beige, ocher, and in old age the head is almost chestnut.

Small protrusions are visible on the surface of the mushroom. Ripe mushroom it bursts open and releases spores. The surface of the mushroom is wrinkled.

It is in the head that the spores are located. It is white in cross-section at the beginning, and dark brown in old age.

The white flesh of young fruiting bodies has a pleasant mushroom smell and a mild taste. Young fruit bodies are edible.
