Healing properties - natural medicine
Young fruiting bodies, mixed and seasoned to taste, can be made into a food paste that helps in the treatment of anemia.
Mixed young mushrooms can be used for compresses difficult to heal wounds, acne, varicose veins, while the powder of mature fruiting bodies is used to treat festering wounds.
Mature spore powders are helpful in treating open festering wounds and ulcers.
What does it look like?
Warted puffball (Lycoperdon perlatum) - the fungus in the initial stage in the form of a ball, becomes pear-shaped with time and later may resemble a club full of spines. In fact, these spikes are very delicate and won't hurt you. At first the mushroom is spherical, then it becomes pear-shaped, club-shaped or capitate, with a narrowed lower part - the leg. Height from 40 to 80 mm and width from 20 to 50 mm. The young hewn inside is white and fleshy. In mature age, the entire interior of the fungus becomes filled with spores. The upper part of the fungus tears and the spores erupt from time to time, which looks very effective.
Where is it growing?
It occurs almost all over the world, very common. It appears in spring and grows until November. It grows in meadows, pastures, in mixed, coniferous and deciduous forests.
Is it edible?
Edible mushroom when young. When the inside of the mushroom is white, it is very fleshy, it is perfect for frying in a pan. Just cut into slices (without the skin) and fry in butter - DELICIES! In the dried state, it is very aromatic with a characteristic mushroom smell (drying should be done when the mushroom is young).
