So glad that you finally had a visit with your son, @riverflows!
Started a little mushroom experiment of my own about four days ago... micro-dosing psilocybin. My mood has been much more uplifting, as the lockdown blahs were setting in a bit.
After a four day run it feels very positive. Had a lot more energy over that period which found me working on some house projects that had been put on hold for some time. Started installing a Bitcoin Lightning Node over the same period. It had been something which had been in the cards yet had never gotten around to it until now. It seemed to make me much more active, all around, as well as putting me in a more chipper mood.
P.S.
Finally took the stationary bicycle for a spin through the French Alps using the mycloudfitness app in an iPad. It had had a long assembly period through Oct. and had been ready to ride for a few days by then. It was about a 14k tour. Although an avid biker (the peddling variety), my daily mileage has dropped off considerably over the last year or so.
Restrictions exist to use planes and trains, restaurants, bars, sports events, etc., because of my non-jabbed status. So the isolated feeling is still there.
How awesome!!! Sister, I literally just checked in on Hive again today after my long pause and am so stocked and vibrating full speed catching up on you guys :) Rad wordplay there btw!!
It is incredible how the mushroom system and mycelia can be an inspiring role model for humanity, to be honest I had no idea it's basically an animal and is more related to us than any other organism on this planet it's pretty mindblowing!
SO of course we got into Mushroom growing too recently ahahha, we just harvested our Shiitake they were heavenlyyy omg and currently growing Reishi, Lions Mane, Enoki, and magic :) thanks for introducing the mushroom community, I subscribed right away, Mushrooms are really the Sages of this Earth 💖@ravenking13 showed me this radiant Soul 'Paul Stamets', maybe you have come across him already but still worth mentioning :)

the most amazing thing is to create a speed-up video of them growing.. but its not easy to make. actually, its pretty hard to do it on a quality level. anyway, oc, wish you more nice posts - and tasty cooks :P
I have never tried growing shrooms at home 😊 but I see a lot of people doing it and they are very happy with the resulst so I might try soon. The baby reishis a so cute 😍 I never even thought that you can grow reishi at home...that's awesome.
I went out yesterday and found bunch of oysters ☺️and have some in the freezer already...not sure about the health benefits but they sure do taste amazing sauted 😄
Oh you should do it for sure! I didn't know you could grow it at home either - I'd wait for your summer maybe and give it a go? I'm sure you can buy grow kits in Europe?
I am so excited for you and yes a little jealous, and Reishi no doubt that is such a powerful healer right there. I bet its super exciting to see how much they grow each day xxxxxxx
This is cool! I like the word joke/metaphore in the title. Got much room? A few friends of mine are currently cloning some I brought them in a petri dish. I wonder how yours taste. The ones above are oyster Mushrooms? Young Ganoderma... cute.

I'd be interested in your insights along these lines. I've been considering this as well.

How do you prepare the reishi?
It's very bitter, so you need to dry then grind it for small amounts in tea or have in a capsule. It's really medicinal.

And awesome on the oysters! I think all shrooms have health benefits so that's really cool!
Reishi is fun to grow, I grew some last year and ended up drying and powdering them to use in hot cocoa and tea.
Oh yes, that's how I drink it, or just a bit with milk and honey before bed!!
If you can get ahold of a lion's mane kit those are pretty dependable and easy to grow, I also powder them for tea but usually just cook them fresh.

It sure is, it's like my babies - I talk to them and all, lol.

Yes, oyster mushrooms, they are easy to grow. So excited about my new mushroom empire!! Mushrooms for the world!!!
I sure don't have mush room in my life for them. Nope never grown any intentionally. Usually have lots of some kind in the garden tho...
