RE: Plentiful Platterfuls

Cool let me know how they taste. Be sure to only try a little at first just in case you might be allergic to something in it. I see these often after a rain here but I never knew they were edible. I suspect only the cap is the edible part as the stem might be too fiberous?

Thanks for the warning. Believe me I tried, but they were so good!

It's not the first time I've read that a species was not a choice edible and I have no idea what they're talking about. These were just plain delicious.

Yeah, I've seen them before too. I guess I thought they wouldn't be that easy to identify, but there is not as many look-a-likes as you might think.
I didn't even try the stems. There was a bit more fiber even in the caps than I expected. But it wasn't a bad thing. I know I ate more than I should have. Hopefully I don't have any issues with them tonight. I'm not prone to that sort of thing but you never know.
Guess I'll know soon enough. 🙄

Yum what do they taste like? A typical mushroom or something a bit different?

Mushroomy but mild for wild.
And fortunately no stomach upset:)
