Hello, dear hivers!
This is my first time posting a blog in this community, and it's my pleasure to share with you this new achievement, which I consider one of the keys to self-improvement.
I just completed the 8-hour Comprehensive Basic Life Support with Automated External Defibrillator (Team Approach)Training which includes hands-on application of performing CPR with an AED.
Training in Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches trainees how to identify life-threatening situations, administer basic life support, handle clinically deceased patients, and respond to airway obstructions and choking.
In addition, to helping those in need during a planting activity, this is a crucial survival skill that can save lives, especially those of our loved ones. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the ARMEDSAFE Safety and Rescue Training Center for conducting this training.
This training is ASHI certified so basically, It was an American standard.
The first discussion involves the level of training and its corresponding training hours.
We also tackle the types of cardiac arrest and how to identify it. The Chain of survival, how and when to perform high-quality CPR.
I also learned how to check pulses from different types of bodies and the accurate spot, and from it, I realized that the most effective way is to check the Carotid pulse which is located in the patient's neck.
After checking the pulses, we jumped into external chest compression and Rescue Breathing these techniques are to revive the heart and the lungs also known as artificial pumping of the heart and artificial ventilations.
After the demonstration, we have a practical for solo and team approach.
We apply the switching of roles to avoid fatigue while doing the operation. So, there's a specific role for each; There's one who performs CPR and the other two assist the breathing, and we can switch every other cycle to avoid fatigue and this is effective until the patient revives and the help arrives.
The recovery position is also crucial and needs to be performed when the CPR succeeds and the patient becomes conscious and starts breathing.
Also, part of the training is the proper usage of AED and how to operate it properly. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a medical device designed to analyze the heart rhythm and deliver an electric shock to victims of ventricular fibrillation to restore the heart rhythm to normal. However, you must be careful when using this only use this in a fatal situation, and advise the team not to touch the patient.
For the Final Lesson, we discussed the FBAO or universal signs of Choking. This is not that hard to perform you just need the proper amount of power and position and there are 2 techniques: The Abdominal Thrust (Heimlich Maneuver and Subddiaphgramatic Maneuver)
To end the training we have a 50-item examination in which the passing rate is 75%. Well, all of us have passed it and we are so proud to receive our certificates.
I know that there's always room for improvement and I want to start it by saving lives.
That's it for me, See you on my next one 😁
PS. I already did my Hive Power Up 7 days ago, I know it is just a small amount. LOL
Mooon out
Congrats. Yeah, it's so important to know first aid when it comes to saving lives. I want to learn that, too.
Thank you. You should learn this too, trust me it's very fulfilling :)
