Oohhh alohaaa! I am a woman hihi! Yeah vidcast/vodcast (I'm not sure bc these days, everyone with a podcast also has their video format and uploads it to YT.) I enjoyed filming this one. I tend to go out of topic so when I realized that I need to keep it short, I cut out a lot of the parts. A colleague told me as well that she didn't understand until the 2nd half of the video so it was clear to me that I need to discuss it more (maybe do a series) or a lengthy "podcast". Anyways, the podcast thing is still on the list, who knows hmm...
Dials bc these are things that you value most. Like you don't feel any remorse when you spend on it bc it makes you happy. You mentioned going to the gym bc you care about your health, you have body/health goals. It's the same for me when I committed to going to the gym. My monthly gym membership is Php800 plus the annual membership of Php1,500. They're expensive for other people who don't go to the gym (and just prefer walks in the park). I mean if one's goal is to be healthy, consistently working out (even at home) would be sufficient for them. For some people, they hire personal trainers bc it's gonna need a lot of work to achieve their bod goals. The most obvious reason is they could be preparing for a championship, (or modeling, or whatnot) 6 mos. from now.
My mom loves food but she is not picky with them. She prefers the local home-cooked ones. For me, sometimes I cook (bc it's interesting to do it after watching a cooking show hmm) but most of the time, I get lazy or have no time so I order online (which is expensive, right?) So my mom saves on food. On the other hand, she finds joy in buying silverware and furniture (which doesn't make sense to me at all). 😅 Learning about this made me appreciate everyone's "sight" in life and behavior. It makes me chill mehehe.
This website is showing the list that identifies the most common ones we have. Money Dials by Ramit Sethi
Your living expenses, you could be specific on that too. Do you value living in a small or a big home? Correct me if I'm wrong but I would imagine a modest one bc you have big assets and of course, your family (esp. if you're the only breadwinner). LENGTHY REPLY HIHI thank you for your comment. 🤓
not lengthy at all! :) i could talk about this for hours..
I think I understand dials better now. So, what would I spend my money on, like without hesitation..
I would say hard assets is my #1 dial.. anything I can live on, whether it be an investment like gold, or maybe an income producer like real estate that I can rent out, or maybe something that would sustain me and my family, like a farm that can produce food as well as be my shelter.. so that would take away much of my ongoing expenses.
Have u ever played the game cashflow? or read the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad written by Robert Kiyosaki (from Hawaii btw)
It's really good and probably my #1 financial type thing that I learned from. In it he goes over the income statement and balance sheet..
Income/Expenses , Liabilities/Assets
Anyway, look those up if u never heard of em and I eagerly await your future posts..
:)
Yes! Aside from hesitations, these things make you happy the most. For sure, looking forward to your posts about your money dials, your journey in getting them as well. I think it would be helpful for noobies too. HEHE.
I've played the cashflow game! It's fuuuun and confusing at first. Rich Dad, Poor Dad book was my first financial book. That's what made me understand the financial world. At first, I thought, it was more serious but once I read the book and listened to the Robert Kiyosaki, I appreciate the financial industry more. I found value in it and figured, why are people still going through these issues? We were taught wrong.
Yay! Rich Dad. did try the e-game? I like it way better than the board game.. like way.. the board game takes forever! :P
What's this about ME doing a future post on dials?? I am waiting for YOU to make some more awesome posts about it! :)
yes! I played online bc at first, I thought it was the only game he has had. Later on, discovered that there's an actual board game. I even considered monopoly hehe but I'm no master.
Oh, I meant future posts on your journey to (any financial goal). We all need a tutorial on the finance thanggg mwahaha, something to consider. 😅
:) musta! I like the egame lots.. 202 especially. My daughter learned about cashflow and robert kiyosaki in school, so now she wants to play! :) (btw, my daughter is 16 y/o)
how's ur income/asset gathering goin? what u do now for income and/or assets? (or lowering of deleting expenses/liabilities) how's ur hiving goin? ever since I powered up I've been doing much better. before i would only maybe .5 HBD/HP per day. now it's about 2-3 on avg per day. some days are super.. look at my highest upvote I got so far..
maybe it's not so much compared to u since u do good on ur posts. It's because u are so fun to watch and listen to.. and u are kinda very cute, too! :P
for me, it's a big deal. I never got much on any of my posts. i do 1-3 per day tho, so it kinda makes up for that. I also have learned a way to get more upvotes with minimal effort. and not just .0001 at a time or like that. :P
OK, well have a good day. I am happy yours is the first response I see today.. :)
Ohhh I'm happy for your daughter. If she could start investing in her age, along with acquiring the knowledge to do so, she would retire earlier. My mom used to say if she was still my age, she'd do all the things she wanted to set up her life in a different way - get into business and could've built an empire to her name. I reply all the time that it's not too late. She can still do something about it.
My goal is still to grow my income and to grow confident haha! I am taking interest in other things especially in business so there's work cut out for me. I'm cheering myself with "slowly, one step at a time". I'm not even active all the time. I need to explore more on Hive and give support to other Hivers as well.
Cool upvote! I was taught to keep posting content so that I can increase my voting power as well. You are doing great so far! 🤟🏼 I will power up soon once I get the hang of the platform too hehe. Hope all is well there! Stay safe and healthy. 💪🏼
:) GM,
so how's the empire 2day? :P How old is ur mom? what kind of biz or investing does she want to do? U are so right.. I told my daughter to invest or at least do SOMETHING with her money, that would give her income or capital gains. She refuses.. bought a fancy phone instead.
well, at least she is learning how to use her money, not MY money! :P (i would NEVER buy a $900 phone tho)
I am confused. I look at people's activities and rewards and stuff, on hive, and it looks to me that u have received about 250 hbd/hp on your posts. i know it gets halved between the author and the curators.. so u got about 125 hbd? is that the way it really happened tho? i notice that it's pretty uncertain since it gets spread out over 7 days, right? like i could get 5 hbd in upvotes to a comment i made, but i will never see that 5 hbd at one time in my wallet/daily rewards. :(
OK, have a great day and make me a new post to watch! :)
