"Ponniyin selvan" is a film that tells a story that happened almost 1000 years ago. The story is based on the Book series " Ponniyin selvan(total 5 parts)" by "Kalki Krishnamurthy". The story is about Chola dynasty King "Arulmozhi varman" he is known as "Ponniyin selvan". This movie is the dream project of "Mani Ratnam sir". He planned this movie 20 years ago, Finally, the project will be done in 2022. The film is filled with a lot of casts, All characters played their role well. This move has 5 parts, Two parts have been completed already. Ponniyin selvan Part-2 will come in 2023

Enjoyed it well. The "Chola chola song" and "Ponni nadhi song" is explaing the characters emotion and majesty in well written form.
The visuals and screenplay is the backborn of the every film, For historical movies it is the unavoident part. Ponniyin selvan is a visual treat for the viewrs, Most of the scens will make you feel like "Damn! How they made this short 😦". Can't notice it is CGI or Real, Crew members greatly worked with Manirathnam Sir for made it beautifully
Negatives
If you are not know Tamil well a bit harder to connect the characters, But this does't make you experince down.
I was gone for this movie on First day in "Avishkar cinemas kottayi" with my friends, I really enjoyed this movie. I already known about some characters from mother and grandma and listened the audio book of "Ponniyin selvan part-1" from "KUKU FM" so I understood the characters easily. But my friends are entering the movie without any expaectations so they felt a bit difficuilt to understrand the characters. The BGM is the theatrical feel aswome. Some scenes are lacking quality itself, I am not sure it is by the print or theater. Dialouges are made in "Sen thamizh' the presentation from the characters made it so beautiful. I am waiting for the remaining parts
My personal ratting is 9.3/10
I am recomending all of you for watch this in theaters. If you are waiting for OTT realese you are lossing a great Theater experience.
