For me Formula 1 is divided into three stages: the current one, the one that was lived between the 80-00's and the one of its beginnings; each one with their respective drivers, in the case of the beginnings, I think that in general we agree that the best driver was Juan Manuel Fangio. When I saw a documentary on Netflix about him I was very happy, because it is a way to let young fans know about the life of this motor racing legend.
The documentary starts by telling us about Fangio's beginnings in motorsport, which were in the Turismo de carrera in the South American continent around 1938, then he makes the leap to compete in Europe and finally when formula 1 is created, he starts competing in it, standing out from the beginning.
One of the best things about this documentary is the comparison it makes between the past and the present of the races, the drivers, the teams and even the safety equipment. They abstract the main characteristics of Fangio, such as the fact that he was a driver very involved in the mechanical process of the cars and because of this he liked to have exclusive mechanics for his car, they give us a history lesson of how this was handled for the time. There are few scenes of the driver in the race, because at that time (1940-1960) naturally there was not the technology of today but that does not feel lacking because the documentary is rich in other shots like museums, it also has acted representations and we have many interviews given by Fangio, which makes the story very enjoyable and you can see how humble this gentleman was despite all his achievements. In the same way we have testimonies of people in the motorsport world from different times but that in a way are connected to the story of Fangio and this really highlights the legend that he is, because years after his death in the world of motorsport we still talk about him every day. They also show us how Fangio's burial was in Argentina in 1995.
Something that I liked very much and this closes the documentary, is that they tell us the results of a study that compared the great drivers of all times of Formula 1: Schumacher, Hamilton, Senna, Prost, Lauda and others. The study was "with all the law", applying variables such as weather, team influence, driver influence and still with all the technology that is handled today and with all the advances that there are, Fangio's statistics are still the best and he wins by far.
As a fan of motor racing I enjoyed the documentary very much, I think it is a good way to get into this much if you don't have more knowledge, I recommend it I give it 3.5/5.

Para mi la Fórmula 1 se divide en tres etapas: la actual, la que se vivió entre los 80-00's y la de sus inicios; cada una con sus respectivos pilotos correspondientes, en el caso de los inicios, creo que en general estamos de acuerdo que el mejor piloto fue Juan Manuel Fangio. Cuando vi un documental en Netflix sobre el me alegré mucho, porque es una forma de dar a conocer a los jóvenes fans sobre la vida de esta leyenda del automovilismo.
El documental inicia contándonos los comienzos de Fangio en el automovilismo, que fueron en el Turismo de carrera en el continente Sudamericano por el año 1938, luego este da el salto a competir en Europa y finalmente cuando la fórmula 1 es creada, este empieza a competir en la misma, destacándo desde el principio.
Una de las mejores cosas de este documental es la comparación que hace entre el pasado y el presente de las carreras, de los pilotos, de los equipos e incluso de los implementos de seguridad. Abstraen las características principales de Fangio, como el hecho de que era un piloto muy involucrado en el proceso mecánico de los autos y por esto le gustaba tener mecánicos exclusivos para su auto, nos dan una lección de historia de cómo se manejaba esto para la época. Hay pocas escenas del piloto en carrera, porque para ese entonces (1940-1960) naturalmente no se contaba con la tecnología de hoy día pero eso no se siente que le falte porque el documental es rico en otras tomas como de museos, también tiene representaciones actuadas y contamos con muchas entrevistas dadas por Fangio, lo que hace que la historia sea muy amena y se nota lo humilde que era este señor a pesar de todos sus logros. De la misma forma tenemos testimonios de personas del automovilismo de distintas épocas pero que de cierta forma están conectadas a la historia de Fangio y esto realmente resalta la leyenda que el es, pues años después de su muerte en el mundo del automovilismo aún hablamos de el día a día. También nos muestran como fue el entierro de Fangio en Argentina en el año 1995.
Algo que me gustó muchísimo y con esto cierra el documental, es que nos cuentan los resultados de un estudio que comparaba los grandes pilotos de todas las épocas de la Fórmula 1: Schumacher, Hamilton, Senna, Prost, Lauda entre otros. El estudio fue "con todas las de ley", aplicando variables como el clima, influencia del equipo, influencia del piloto y aún así con toda la tecnología que hoy se maneja y con todos los avances que hay las estadísticas de Fangio siguen siendo las mejores y gana por mucho.
Como fan del automovilismo disfrute muchísimo el documental, pienso que es una buena manera de adentrarse en este mucho sino se tiene mayor conocimiento, lo recomiendo le doy 3.5/5
