Hooooooooooola amigos, espero estén bien ;D para los fanáticos de las series de antología y horror, hoy les hablaré acerca de una de mis series favoritas y la cual considero una de las mejores de todos los tiempos, American Horror Story. En este apartado les comentaré mis 5 temporadas favoritas (de 9), sin más preámbulo, ¡comencemos!
Para quienes no saben de esta serie, la trama principal de cada temporada es el miedo, la sangre y el terror psicológico. Los actores más influyentes y que han participado en más temporadas son: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Angela Basset, Finn Wittrock y Emma Roberts.
5 - FREAK SHOW
Estrenada desde Octubre del 2014 a Enero del 2015, la cuarta temporada de la serie se centra en un circo de fenómenos durante la década de los 50s, con flashbacks de la década de los 40s y un flashforward de la década de los 60s. Circo creado por Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange), quien no tenía piernas y utilizaba unas fabricadas por un carpintero. Elsa rescataba engendros de la calle y les ofrecía un espacio en el circo. Un payaso asesino, una médium falsa y un timador con la intención de extinguir a los engendros, son quienes se hacen cargo de destruir a la mayoría de los personajes. Esta temporada no es considerada netamente antológica debido a que Lily Rabe, Naomi Grossman y John Cromwell repitieron sus roles de Mary Eunice, Pepper y el Dr. Arthur Arden de la segunda temporada, Asylum. Considero esta temporada como una de las mejores por la actuación espectacular de Jessica Lange y el buen desarrollo de la trama, la crueldad y el diseño de los personajes. Cabe destacar que esta temporada recibió elogios por parte de la crítica por el elenco y también fue nominada a diversos premios, entre ellos los premios SAG, Primetime Emmy y a los Golden Globes.

4 - APOCALYPSE
Estrenada en Septiembre del 2018 y culminada en Noviembre del mismo año, Apocalypse es una de las temporadas con más personajes de la serie y es la primera donde ocurre un crossover notorio (Murder House y Coven). La trama principal se basa en el fin del mundo, donde el hijo del diablo ha sido el causante de la destrucción de los tiempos y las brujas llegan para salvarlos a todos. Con una puntuación de 63/100 en Metacritic, los críticos alabaron las actuaciones de Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates y Cody Fern. Amo esta temporada por la inclusión de personajes antiguos, su nivel de oscuridad, que aunque no fue tan terrorífica como sus antecesoras, se solidó como una de las más potentes en cuanto al nivel de actuación del reparto y el desarrollo de sus personajes.

3 - HOTEL
La icónica actuación de Lady Gaga fue lo que marcó este temporada, mostrándose como la vampiresa líder del Hotel Cortez, un lugar donde masacraban a sus huéspedes. Se establecen flashbacks en las décadas de 1920, 1970, 1980 y 1990, se notan los temas de adicción, la sensualidad y la versatilidad. Hotel es hasta la fecha la temporada más cara en cuanto a producción. La magnífica actuación de Lady Gaga le valió un Globo de Oro. La temporada tiene mínimas conexiones con Murder House y Coven. Me pareció interesante y bastante terrorífica por el nivel sangriento que se presentaba y los oscuros secretos que se hallaban dentro del Hotel. Cabe destacar que esta temporada está inspirada en el Hotel Cecil, lugar donde frecuentemente ocurrían asesinados y suicidios de manera extraña...

2 - ASYLUM
Históricamente narrada en la década de los 60s, da lugar en el ficticio Manicomio Católico Briarcliff donde murieron 46.000 personas a consecuencia de tuberculosis. La temporada presenta posesiones demoníacas, la tortura y el misterio de los aliens. Es considerada una de las temporadas más temibles de la serie. Jessica Lange fue nominada al Globo de Oro por su majestuosa actuación y en lo personal, considero que lo marcó esta serie fue la psicología de la misma y de cómo los personajes se envuelven en sus pensamientos más oscuros.

Inspirada en Salem, la tercera temporada de la serie se basó en la brujería y la supervivencia de las brujas que aún siguen vivas. La temporada recibió 17 nominaciones al Emmy, donde Jessica Lange y Kathy Bates fueron galardonadas, la serie también estuvo nominada en los Globo de Oro en la categoría de *Mejor Miniserie o Telefilme*. La lucha por la supremacía, el amor y la opresión son algunos de los temas abarcados. Lo esencial de esta increíble temporada es el empoderamiento femenino y sus destacadas actuaciones.
