We live in the attention economy, it's only common that stars like Jennifer will get pushed down on viewers on every turn possible to maximize revenue.
That said, when it comes to the topic of "Artificial Intelligence" not a lot of movies come out impressive as all mostly follow the same common playbook that any Sci-fi fan like myself can predict.
that was the bad thing about the movie, it was half-baked and didn't exploit the AI theme as it should have. They wanted to play it safe, exploit the approach to Jennifer, something entertaining and that was it. But it was detrimental, because the movie can be considered a failure.
