Some time ago I shared with you a post with the three Bridget Jones movies, until that moment I didn’t know that there was going to be a fourth installment that was released yesterday February 14, called “Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy” where we find again the crazy Bridget being Bridget, but with more maturity, tenderness, loneliness, sadness and even depression, after losing her husband 4 years ago and now being a single mother of two children, Billy and Mabel.

Hace un tiempo compartí con ustedes una publicación con las tres películas de Bridget Jones, hasta ese momento no sabía que iba a haber una cuarta entrega que fue estrenada ayer 14 de febrero, llamada “Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy” donde nos encontramos nuevamente a la alocada Bridget siendo Bridget, pero con más madurez, con ternura, soledad, tristeza y hasta depresión, luego de haber perdido a su esposo hace 4 años y ahora ser una madre soltera de dos hijos, Billy y Mabel.
When we realice that Mark Darcy is gone, but that his presence is with her on a daily basis, that’s very emotional, it makes you understand what it’s like to miss that loved one, the one who will always be there even though he physically can’t, that emotionality is found throughout the film regarding grief, coping and learning how to move on after such an important loss.
It is a very nice movie, at times it makes you cry, well it made me cry a lot as we say in Venezuela, a moco suelto, but also is that in recent days I have been quite sensitive and I did not imagine that when I saw the film I would cry, because I thought it was like the previous ones, with lots of laughter, craziness, ridiculousness and that was what I was looking for, but here we find another stage of life where there is sadness, but without ceasing to be Bridget. Then we also have a lot of laughs because she is her, but this time without screwing up as many times as she does in all the previous movies, here there are scenes like those that make you remember the Bridget of always, but not so many, so it keeps you connected with her essence in a more mature way and with the same Bridget’s faces, of course with a little more botox or I don’t know how many things Renée Zellweger has done to her face.
Cuando nos damos cuenta que Mark Darcy ya no está, pero que su presencia está con ella en el día a día, eso es muy emotivo, te hace entender como es extrañar a ese ser querido, el que siempre estará a pesar de que físicamente no puede, esa emotividad se encuentra en toda la película con respecto al duelo, el como sobrellevarlo y aprender a seguir adelante después de una pérdida tan importante.
Es una película muy bonita, en momentos te hace llorar, bueno a mí me hizo llorar mucho como decimos en Venezuela, a moco suelto, pero también es que en los últimos días me he encontrado bastante sensible y no me imaginaba que al ver la película iba a llorar, porque creía que era como las anteriores, con muchas risas, locuras, ridiculeces y era lo que andaba buscando, pero aquí nos encontramos con otra etapa de la vida donde hay tristeza, aunque sin dejar de ser Bridget. entonces también tenemos muchas risas porque ella es ella, pero en esta ocasión sin meter la pata tantas veces como lo hace en todas las películas anteriores, aquí sí hay escenas como esas que te hacen recordar a la Bridget de siempre, pero no tantas, por lo que te mantiene conectado con su esencia de una manera más madura y con las mismas caras de Bridget, claro con un poquito más de botox o no sé qué tantas cosas se habrá hecho Renée Zellweger en su cara.
As I already told you in this film Bridget tries to move on after 4 years in total mourning, living in pajamas, desperate not knowing how she will continue to live without Mark, how she will raise her children without their father, how the children will grow up without that father figure in the case of Billy and in the case of Mabel, without almost having met him; She doesn’t know if she will be able to cope with everything, but she counts on her usual friends, her friends who never abandon her, those who suggest her to go back to work, to be productive and be her again, so she returns to the TV show with her friend Miranda, with the same creativity to produce in her own style and hiring a nanny to help her at home and trying new loves.
Roxster, the first love after 4 years, is a young man much younger than her but that makes her want to have a time machine, and although it is a nice love and it is seen that the boy who is also very handsome wants with her, it is a relationship that has no future because of the considerable age difference. Then we have the new teacher at Billy and Mabel’s school, Mr. Wallaker, who is the opposite of Bridget as Mark was, poles apart, serious, disciplined and who sees her as she is, with her craziness and admiring her intelligence, although as I said at the beginning without so many scenes where she makes a fool of herself in front of Mr. Wallaker.
Como ya les dije en esta película Bridget trata de seguir adelante después de 4 años en total duelo, viviendo en pijamas, desesperada por no saber cómo va a seguir viviendo sin Mark, cómo va a criar a sus hijos sin su padre, como los niños van a crecer sin esa figura paterna en el caso de Billy y en el caso de Mabel, sin casi haberlo conocido; no sabe si podrá con todo, pero cuenta con los amigos de siempre, sus amigos que nunca la abandonan, los que le sugieren volver a trabajar, ser productiva y volver a ser ella, de esa manera vuelve al programa de televisión con su amiga Miranda, con la misma creatividad para producir a su estilo y contratando una niñera que le ayude en su casa y probando nuevos amores.
Roxster, el primer amor después de 4 años, es un joven mucho menor que ella pero que la hace querer tener una máquina del tiempo, y aunque es un amor bonito y se ve que el muchacho quien además es muy guapo quiere con ella, es una relación que no tiene futuro por la diferencia de edad tan considerable. Luego tenemos al nuevo profesor de la escuela de Billy y Mabel, el señor Wallaker, quién es todo lo contrario a Bridget tal cual lo era Mark, polos opuestos, serio, disciplinado y que la ve tal cual ella es, con sus locuras y admirando su inteligencia, aunque como dije al principio sin tantas escenas donde ella hace el ridículo en enfrente del señor Wallaker.
The film also introduces us to other characters that we have met in the previous films, as is the case of Daniels, who is still the same womanizer chasing models of 20 years and who is very close friends with Bridget and her children, who by the things of life makes Bridget understand that she is lucky to have what she has and that her children see her with love and to have people who love her, while he has wasted his whole life and in the important moments he does not find who to call, it is very sad that the only person he can think of is Bridget.
To finish it was a great surprise to find so many emotions in this movie and that despite having as main theme to overcome grief and move forward still retains the essence of Bridget Jones and is still a romantic comedy so I had a lot of fun and I felt emotional at the time when she decides to return to writing in her diary and tells how it is to feel alone and all her insecurity of how to start again, all those scenes I loved even though I cried. I really liked this movie, I recommend it, for those who already saw the first three movies I am very sure that you will love this one, it is one of the best, if not the best.
La película también nos presentan otros personajes que hemos conocido en las películas anteriores, como es el caso de Daniel, quien sigue siendo el mismo mujeriego persiguiendo modelos de 20 años y que es muy amigo de Bridget y de sus hijos, quién por cosas de la vida le hace comprender a Bridget que tiene suerte de tener lo que tiene y de que sus hijos la vean con amor y de tener a personas que la aman, mientras que él ha desperdiciado toda su vida y en los momentos importantes no encuentra a quién llamar, es muy triste que en la única persona que pueda pensar sea en Bridget.
Para culminar fue una gran sorpresa encontrarme tantas emociones en esta película y que a pesar de tener como tema principal el sobreponerse al duelo y seguir adelante todavía conserva la esencia de Bridget Jones y sigue siendo una comedia romántica por lo que me divertí mucho y me sentí emotiva en el momento en el que decide volver a escribir en su diario y narra cómo es sentirse sola y todas sus inseguridad de como empezar de nuevo, todas esas escenas me encantaron aunque lloré. Me gustó mucho está película, se las recomiendo, para aquellos que ya vieron las primeras tres películas estoy muy segura que esta les va a encantar, es una de las mejores, si no se podría decir que la mejor.
🥹 Yo vi las dos primeras, no sabía que seguian una secuencia y que habían varias, tendré que buscar la tercera para entender la cuarta.
Si te hizo llorar, seguramente a mí también, menos mal que ya sé que no encontraré tantas risas sino cosas más reflexivas así no me sentiré decepcionada cuando la vea.

Hola, la tercera se llama El bebé de Bridget Jones. En esta cuarta también hay risas y ella siendo ella solo que tiene esa parte del duelo, pero es buena.
Tienes que ver la tercera para saber cómo fue que al fin Bridget y Mark se casaron y porque el bebé es el tema central de esa película 😃

Siempre he escuchado ese título, El diario de Bridget Jones, pero no sabía que había tres películas más, esta parece ser una entrega emotiva y nostálgica. Muy buena reseña.
Hola, si te animas a verla tienes que empezar desde la primera para que conozcas a Bridget y sus locuras y puedas empatizar con ella porque todas las películas tienen una secuencia, aunque la segunda es la que menos me gusta.
