Hi. This is @bezil, and I would like to participate in the ongoing contest by @zord189
First, The director of this movie, Ron Howard is one of my favorite director. He is one of the directors who rocked my childhood and adolescence. He is a guy who made me dream and he is one of those who gave me the love I can have for cinema, especially with the likes of "Coccon", "Splash", "Apollo 13" or even "The ransom" and now "Backdraft" that I'm going to be reviewing for this contest.
Movie: Backdraft (1991)
Genre: Thriller / Drama
Director: Ron Howard
Cast: Kurt Russell, Robert De Niro, William Baldwin, Scott Glenn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Rebecca De Mornay.
Synopsis: Two Chicago firefighter brothers, who don't get along, have to work together while a dangerous arsonist is on the loose. (IMDb)
Review: Backdraft is the kind of film that, when I was a child, made me want to be a firefighter. Is the kind of movie I watched the VHS over and over again where, TV reruns. Although, I haven't had the chance to rewatch it again (the last time must have been on VHS for sure.), But I'm certain, even if I see it again with my Adult eyes, I'm still very much going to enjoy every bit of it, as its going to bring back old memories due to how efficient and entertaining it was.
Backdraft is the story of two brothers, firefighters, who followed in the footsteps of their father, who died in the line of duty. In short, a typically American story, which will further be fleshed out, with criminal intrigue and a social background, with withdrawn budgets and shenanigans in the upper echelons of the city. We will also have the right to a beautiful dive in the heart of a barracks, between love, fascination, fear and danger of fire. Ron Howard will add to this, a certain tension between the brothers, and here is "Backdraft", little left to do its wonders.
Overall, what really pushed this movie is the plot and also the cast that made it so awesome. Backdraft is a golden cast, a cast that was so impeccable in their separate characters, that it makes you forget the faults on the right and left. Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, Robert De Niro, Scott Glenn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, JT Walsh, Rébecca de Morney, Donald Sutherland ... In short, I fell in love with how amazingly they did Justice to their roles.
