Flashback is a powerful tool movie makers, writers, and even artists make use of to create better content and a stronger storyline. This power tool of flashback is something Denzel Washington made good use of in the movie he produced, titled A Journal for Jordan.
And oh yeah I confess to the fact that recently, I have gradually become a fanatic for movies based on true life stories or based on a book. That is why if you take out the time to check my blog, you will come to see my review on THE BANKER, which is a movie apple TV paid top dollar for its rights because it is based on a true-life story as well.
The movie A Journal for Jordan is an American love story that talks about the heartfelt love story between a soldier and a civilian. It's quite impossible to deny the truth that this love story is quite rare and above all heartfelt. It's something like falling in love with someone whose job is to protect the rest of the world without the rest of the world, even if the rest doesn't notice his effort daily. It feels like at the back of the lover's mind, you know that this man might never come back home but yet you still go ahead and love in love. Wow!!! this thing called love can be quite strange and mysterious at the same time like they say
we don't get the chance to decide who the heart falls for.
The movie takes Michael B.Jordan and Chante Adams as the lead roles, Michael playing the soldier that loves to defend his country and its people at all cost, while the lovely Chante Adams plays the beautiful writer that is in love with her feminity and above all madly in love with her soldier. A part of the movie which got me all mellow and opened my mind towards their lovely chemistry was how Chante Adams was quite reluctant at taking her father's advice on how to get the guy but making use of it at the end. She acted like her father's daughter, the child of a retired army general.
The movie wasn't all about love but it also shared light on the fact that our little impact and dedication in whatever we find ourselves doing can make a ripple effect in our world of today. As I said I am officially a fan of movies based on books or true life stories, this one isn't an exception. It is solely based on the memoir written by Dana Canedy, who happens to be the Senior vice president and publisher of Simon & Schuster, also making her the first black lady to attain this position. In one of her interviews, she describes the main motivation that kept her going is the desire to be a role model for her son. So, it's no surprise that Chante Adam's character in the movie happens to be a writer with strong dreams and goals to become the best at what she loves doing. One would simply fall for the way she carries herself with so much integrity and high standards, and above all how she trains her child to be a better person with much love and discipline at the same time.
A Journal for Jordan is a must-watch for anyone who happens to be a huge fan of real love stories between individuals of much charisma and confidence. How they display their affection for one another with so much pride and joy, you will just conclude that it is only unfair that the man had to always leave because of his military job. Too bad, that is how I felt while watching on my laptop. Being ideal, the movie was well crafted, and please don't even get me started on the sex scene, or oops should I have called it the lovemaking scene? It was quite intriguing, how they played it cool like their affection for one another wouldn't make them explore the walls of lovemaking.

I saw the trailer to this movie a week ago, and I can't wait to watch it this weekend. Jordan is one of my favorite actor and I am not surprised you rated his performance well. I like your review presentation, no spoilers! I enjoyed reading your post.
