The Adam Project ~ Movie Review

I have always been a fan of Ryan Reynolds, so his movies are like me watching without second thoughts. If not anything, you are sure to get a good laugh from it and this brings us to his new movie "Adam Project".

The Adam Project is a sci-fic action movie directed by Shawn Levy, starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Walker Stowell, Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Catherine Keener amongst others. The movie follows a time traveller who went back in time to unravel a mystery behind a missing puzzle. It takes us through the exciting journey and adventure of Adam through the year 2050 to 2022 where he meets his younger self in one of the rough stages of his life. That's not all, they would have to team up together with their late father to save the future.

Time travel is one thing as we get to see the action in the sky as Adam steals a jet to travel back in time to find his wife but accidentally gets dropped in 2022 instead of 2018 when they first met. Navigating through finding his wife, he would be faced with dealing with his past. Here, the story gets emotional as you see both young and adult Adam struggling to get pass the death of the father...a loss that never went way for Adam. Memories would be revisited, hurt bared up as they come to terms and let the hurt go.

The Adam Project is an entertaining movie that would give you a good laugh and also make you all emotional. Talking about getting a second chance at life and choices one would make with that opportunity. Beautiful family moments from the father and the boys, not forgetting the healing process one go through when dealing with loss. There is also a touch on romance which was not really the focus but was enjoyable. More so, exploring the concept of time travel was interesting to see even though I felt disappointed at how it went. However, I really enjoyed the dialogue between Ryan and Walker, they have really good chemistry...I mean they were fun to watch together. I applaud Walker as the young Adam as he was able to deliver wonderfully well. Zoe Saldana isn't also exempted, good fighting skills too.

However, did I expect more? Yes, I excepted more....it wasn't up to my expectations. It was just...kinda empty maybe, sketchy....not satisfying, it was a bit overhyped in my opinion nothing really extraordinary but it is fun to watch coupled with the cool special effects...the weapons though. Nonetheless, it gives a fun vibe, entertaining watch and a nice emotional ending by the way. Did I forget to mention that is a family movie too...yeah it is, especially with kids that really enjoys video games...they'll like the cool stuff and the rush it gives, more like an interesting adventure.

It was an exciting watch actually, I am just a little off on it lol. I haven't seen "The Nines", which is weird because I thought I saw most of his movies, so I'd surely check it out. 😀
