56 Emmy nominations and not a single victory. 7 years in a row as one of the most watched and best rated series by critics around the world. 2, are the years that separate the final episode of Breaking Bad (2008-2013), with the first episode of Better Call Saul (2015-2022). And there you have it... Data that only slightly describes the importance behind a story that had to stand side by side with its mother series. Not only that, it had to live up to a loyal and sceptical audience, and one that time has put in the best of places... February, 10, 2025, 10 years since the premiere of James Morgan McGill's story...

Known as Slippin' Jimmy, Gene Takovic, Saul Goodman, or Viktor with a ’K, what started out as just another filler character in the 2nd season of Breaking Bad, culminated in a masterpiece of audiovisual creation. A series that surpassed all expectations (at the time) of its creator Vince Gillingan and Peter Gould. It's amazing what a legacy these two guys created. I'm not sure we are aware of the influence they have left for all generations to come thanks to the creative and cinematic work that is the Breaking Bad Universe.

I myself was in shock when I found out that it was 10 years to the day since that prequel. In my mind, such a long time had simply never happened.... My God, how quickly it all goes by.... So, as a fan, an admirer and honestly, a girl largely influenced by this universe, I must say that my opinions and arguments were not very objective. This series is one of my favourites, and it has been with me in really difficult and complicated moments... Plus the plot, in itself, invites the deepest reflection.

Walter White. Good, honest, brilliant and self-sacrificing man ends up being hated, persecuted, cursed and extremely sick. All for wanting to be what he thought he should be. Power as an absolute motivator. James Morgan McGill, Jimmy to his friends. One day he will be known for defending the dregs of society. For profiting from the unethical and profiting from the immoral. However, both figures, both characters, did not get where they did overnight. Little by little they gave free rein to their worst versions, bewitched by the desire to achieve what was supposed to make them better...

Along the way, they left behind everything they once loved purely. Unbridled ambition, futility, but above all power, made them not know how to evaluate well what was really important... Nothing is free, nothing is really good or bad but there are always consequences to pay, always.... I doubt that there is anyone in this community who has not seen one of these series. They are very famous and almost never arouse haters. But if you are one of those who haven't seen Better Call Saul or haven't finished watching it, let me tell you that I envy you.... I would love to watch it again and marvel at it from scratch. 10 years have passed, and I still treasure and appreciate you, dear series.

Breaking bad was really good but I found it a bit slow in-between. But the acting was just top notch!
