Hay un par de películas de terror que se anunciaron para este año y estoy genuinamente emocionado por algunos títulos. Primero está "Final Destination: Bloodlines". Es la sexta entrega de la saga de "Final Destination". Cuando vi la primera de estas pelis era muy joven y me asustó muchísimo. Siempre estaba mirando detrás de mi. No me sentía seguro en ningún lugar ya que, la muerte no necesita entrar a tu casa por la puerta. No hace ruido. No estás a salvo en ningún lugar. Creo que eso es lo que hace estos Slashers tan cool.
There are a couple of horror movies that were announced for this year and I am genuinely excited for some titles. First up is "Final Destination: Bloodlines". It's the sixth installment in the "Final Destination" franchise. When I watched the first of these movies I was very young and it scared me a lot. I was always looking behind me. I didn't feel safe anywhere because, death doesn't need to come into your house through the door. It's silent. You're not safe anywhere. I think that's what makes these Slashers so cool.
No se ha dicho mucho sobre esta película, aunque ya hay una sinopsis: "Una joven llamada Stefani tiene un sueño recurrente sobre morir en un incendio ocurrido en la década de 1960; se da cuenta de que no es solo un sueño, sino una premonición del destino que le espera a su familia. Su abuela había escapado del mismo
destino hace años; ahora, la muerte se acerca a toda la familia de Stefani y ella debe encontrar una manera de detenerla antes de que sea demasiado tarde". Esto es interesante porque creo que están cambiando las reglas del juego. Al parecer la muerte va a cazar de generación en generación y hay que encontrar como romper el ciclo. En las películas anteriores no hay nada generacional en el asunto. Las personas que escaparon de la muerte serán tomadas una por una, después de todo, hicieron trampa y deben pagar.
Not much has been said about this movie, although there is already a synopsis: "A young woman named Stefani has a recurring dream about dying in a fire that occurred in the 1960s; she realizes it is not just a dream, but a premonition of the fate awaiting her family. Her grandmother had escaped the same fate years ago; now, death is coming for Stefani's entire family and she must find a way to stop it before it's too late." This is interesting because I think they are changing the rules of the game. It seems like death is going to hunt from generation to generation and they have to find a way to break the cycle. In previous movies, there is nothing generational about the matter. The people who escaped death will be taken one by one, after all, they cheated and must pay.
Para mi sorpresa hay un actor de las pelis anteriores que regresa. Tony Todd regresa como Bludworth, el forense/oráculo mas aterrador e incomodo de la historia en el cine. Esto quizá significa que esta peli es una "Legacy Sequel". Solo espero que hagan un buen trabajo como lo hicieron el equipo que esta detras de "Sream" con la ultima peli que sacaron. Eso fue Gourmet. Creo que el lenguaje de las pelis de terror está cambiando. Por eso creo que es buena idea que cambien las reglas del juego en esta entrega y no estaría mal que explicaran algo acerca de las premoniciones. De donde vienen. ¿Cómo es que algunas personas pueden escapar de la muerte?
To my surprise, there is an actor from the previous movies returning. Tony Todd is back as Bludworth, the most terrifying and uncomfortable coroner/oracle in cinema history. This may mean that this movie is a "Legacy Sequel." I just hope they do a good job like the team behind "Scream" did with the last movie they released. That was gourmet. I think the language of horror movies is changing. That's why I think it's a good idea to change the rules of the game in this installment, and it wouldn't hurt if they explained something about premonitions. Where do they come from? How is it that some people can escape death?
Esta película se estrenara en Mayo de este 2025. El día propuesto es el 16 aunque no se ha hecho demasiado ruido al respecto. Aunque no debería preocuparme mucho ya que con la última entrega de "Scream" pasó igual. Solo que con esta película de "Final Destination" no hay ni siquiera un trailer completo en internet.
This movie will be released in May of this 2025. The proposed day is the 16th although not much noise has been made about it. Although I shouldn't worry too much since the same thing happened with the latest installment of "Scream." It's just that with this "Final Destination" movie, there isn't even a full trailer on the internet.

Soy fan de las películas de zombis. Y "28 Days Later" es definitivamente una de las mejores en el género. Ahora luego de 20 años Danny Boyle y Alex Garland, director y guionista respectivamente, regresan con la tercera parte de esta saga. A diferencia de con "Final Destination: Bloodlines, a esta secuela de zombis si le han hecho publicidad. Ya hay un trailer corriendo por ahí. Es increíble. Creo que mis expectativas están demasiado altas. Y no van a bajar, porque el director y guionista de esta entrega son de los mejores en el campo actualmente.
I am a fan of zombie movies. And "28 Days Later" is definitely one of the best in the genre. Now, after 20 years, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, director and writer respectively, return with the third installment of this saga. Unlike "Final Destination: Bloodlines," this zombie sequel has been advertised. There's already a trailer running out there. It's amazing. I think my expectations are too high. And they won't diminish because the director and writer of this installment are among the best in the field currently.
A parte del equipo técnico, que son lo máximo, el cast es sorprendente. Aaron Taylor-Johnson es uno de los nombre más populares ahora mismo. Acaba de salir en "Nosferatu como uno de los personajes protagónicos. Estuvo increíble en "Bullet Train" y se rumorea que será el próximo "James Bond". No voy a hablar de "Kraven: The Hunter" porque no la vi, y creo que no la voy a ver, pero igual es bueno meterla aquí porque compañías como Sony solo eligen actores populares para protagonizar su pelis como medida publicitaria para hacer más dinero. Scott que disfrute mucho. "The Bikeriders" es otro acierto para la actris. Sé que va a hacer un trabajo excelente como protagonista. El tercer nombre del reparto es, claro, Ralph Fiennes; quien recientemente dio clases en "Conclave", "The Menu" y tienes grandes papeles detrás en "Harry Potter" y "MIF". No tengo dudas de que estos tres actores juntos serán una fuerza imparable.
Besides the technical team, who are the best, the cast is amazing. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is one of the hottest names right now. He just appeared in "Nosferatu" as one of the main characters. He was incredible in "Bullet Train" and there are rumors that he will be the next "James Bond." I won't talk about "Kraven: The Hunter" because I didn't watch it, and I don't think I will, but it's still good to mention it here because companies like Sony only choose popular actors to star in their movies as a publicity measure to make more money. Jodie Comer appeared in "The Last Duel," a great drama by Ridley Scott that I really enjoyed. "The Bikeriders" is another success for the actress. I know she is going to do an excellent job as the lead. The third name in the cast is, of course, Ralph Fiennes; who recently starred in "Conclave," "The Menu" and has had great roles in "Harry Potter" and "MIF." I have no doubt that these three actors together will be an unstoppable force.
Un par de sorpresas acerca de esta entrega, a parte de que Cillian Murphy está en el reparto -si, no la vieron venir ¿verdad?-, es que "28 Years Later" es el comienzo de una trilogía. Aparentemente Garland ya escribió las tres partes para asegurar una línea argumental ininterrumpida. Eso esta cool. La segunda parte de la trilogía no tendrá a Boyle como director pero está bien, no pasa nada. Ya con saber que Garland está detrás de la historia me hace sentir tranquilo. Oh! Casi lo olvido, la fecha de estreno de esta película está para el 20 de Junio de este año. Ya no falta mucho.
A couple of surprises about this delivery, apart from Cillian Murphy being in the cast - yes, didn't see that coming, right? - is that "28 Years Later" is the beginning of a trilogy. Apparently Garland has already written the three parts to ensure a seamless storyline. That's cool. The second part of the trilogy won't have Boyle as director but it's fine, no big deal. Just knowing that Garland is behind the story makes me feel at ease. Oh! I almost forgot, the release date of this movie is June 20 of this year. There's not much left now.

Para cerrar tengo a la nueva entrega de franquicia iniciada por James Wan en 2004: "SAW XI". Algunas personas piensan que ya van demasiadas de estas pelis. Yo iré a verlas todas en el cine para retorcerme en mi asiento y comer cotufas. Dejé esta para el final ya que no estoy seguro de qué va a pasar con este estreno. Porque estaba pautada para 26 de septiembre de 2025 con Kevin Greutert como director. Pero hay rumores de que se cancelará el estreno por algún malentendido de los productores. "SAW XI" ya se retraso un año. Se suponía que debía estrenarse el 2024. Pero aquí estamos y aun no hay seguridad de nada.
Finally, I have the new installment of the franchise initiated by James Wan in 2004: "SAW XI." Some people think that there have been too many of these movies already. I will go see them all in theaters to squirm in my seat and eat popcorn. I saved this one for last because I'm not sure what will happen with this release. It was scheduled for September 26, 2025, with Kevin Greutert as the director. But there are rumors that the release will be canceled due to some misunderstanding by the producers. "SAW XI" has already been delayed by a year. It was supposed to be released in 2024. But here we are, and there is still no certainty about anything.

Solo espero que cierren la historia que han estado construyendo durante los últimos 20 años. Es cierto que han tenido altas y bajas con su asunto de historia no lineal y la calidad de las pelis, pero la idea en sí de esta franquicia está muy bien. Bien manejada, quizá con un Reboot en otra compañía como Bloomhouse creo que sería un palazo. Agarren y lancen una buena trilogía con un inicio y fin bien marcados y vean como se venden los boletos solitos. O quizá una serie con un par de temporadas bajo un
productora impecable como HBO o quizás Apple TV. De repente lo que le hace falta a esta saga es un giro, pero no en la historia, si no en el equipo detrás de las pelis. Si James Wan regresa para dirigir la primera temporada de esta serie seria uno de los éxitos mas grandes de esa plataforma sin duda alguna.
I just hope they close the story they have been building for the past 20 years. They have had highs and lows with their non-linear story approach and the movie quality, but the concept of this franchise is solid. Well executed, perhaps with a Reboot at another company like Bloomhouse, I think it could be a hit. Grab and release a good trilogy with a well-defined beginning and end and watch the tickets sell themselves. Or maybe a series with a couple of seasons under an impeccable producer like HBO or perhaps Apple TV. Perhaps what this saga needs is a twist, but not in the story, but in the team behind the movies. If James Wan returns to direct the first season of this series, it would undoubtedly be one of the biggest successes of that platform.
Ya aquí estoy inventando soluciones, pero como fan de la saga no me gustaría verla morir por un malentendido o alguna pelea marital entre los productores. Me gustaría llegar al final de esta historia mientras aun estoy joven para ir disfrutarla en el cine con algunos amigos. Los que aun me queden en el país.
Here I am, coming up with solutions, but as a fan of the saga I wouldn't like to see it die because of a misunderstanding or some marital argument among the producers. I would like to reach the end of this story while I am still young to go enjoy it at the movies with some friends. The ones that I still have in the country.

De las tres películas me quedo con Final Destination Bloodline y 28 Años Después, ambas son de las que más quiero ver así como The Monkey del director de Longlegs y basada en una historia de Stephen King; esa sería las tres películas de terror que quiero ver en este año.
tambien vi la del mono. Me parece extraña jajaja La idea de un juguete me parece dificil de aterrizar. Veamos como lo hace el pana de longlegs!
