Primero que nada tengo que decirles que este review tiene un par de spoilers aunque igual no se pierden de absolutamente nada porque tienen que ver esta película con el cerebro apagado. La historia de esta película va de que Marvin, nuestro protagonista (interpretado por Ke Huy Quan), en su vida pasada era un mercenario que trabajaba para su hermano mayor, que era un criminal muy influyente. Luego de esto él decide que quiere vivir una vida normal y se aleja del crimen y lo hace por un tiempo hasta que un cabo suelto regresa y esto hace que la nueva vida normal de Marvin se sacuda y él deba regresar a sus antiguas y violentas costumbres. A ver... Lo único que vale la pena dentro de toda la hora y 20 de esta peli es la acción. Creo que odie absolutamente todo lo que estaba alrededor de la acción en esta película. Detesté cada uno de todos los personajes con excepción de nuestro protagonista y los dos matones que lo perseguían. Estoy hablando de los hombres que knuckles contrató una vez que se fue Marvin. Me pareció que fueron los encargados de los chistes más sólidos que tuvo la película. Y no sé por qué, ya que ellos tenían las conversaciones más básicas. Pero los disfruté. Me gustó verlos en pantalla. Inclusive al final, cuando están tirados en el piso, se escuchan las sirenas y ellos dicen sus últimas líneas fue agradable.
First of all I have to tell you that this review has a couple of spoilers, but you won't miss anything because you have to watch this movie with your brain turned off. The story of this movie is that Marvin, our protagonist (played by Ke Huy Quan), in his past life was a mercenary who worked for his older brother, who was a very influential criminal. After this he decides that he wants to live a normal life and he stays away from crime and does so for a while until a loose end comes back and this makes Marvin's new normal life shake up and he must return to his old and violent ways. Let's see... The only thing worth watching in the entire hour and 20 minutes of this movie is the action. I think I absolutely hated everything that was around the action in this movie. I hated every single one of the characters except for our protagonist and the two thugs who were chasing him. I'm talking about the men that Knuckles hired once Marvin left. I thought they had the strongest jokes in the movie. And I don't know why, since they had the most basic conversations. But I enjoyed them. I liked seeing them on screen. Even at the end, when they're lying on the floor, you hear the sirens and they say their last lines, it was nice.

Odié el cast de Rose. No me gustó el trabajo de Ariana Debose. Y ella es la coprotagonista. No sé si ella hizo un mal trabajo o si el papel que le dieron estaba defectuoso de fabrica. Pero las cosas que hacían eran estúpidas. Sus expresiones faciales, las deducciones que tomaba... Desde el inicio todo estuvo mal, enviándole cartas a todo el mundo y sentenciando nuestro protagonista a un infierno, ya que gracias a ella knuckles asesinó a su jefe Cliff Cussick, que no era solo su jefe sino un hermano para Marvin, nuestro protagonista. No era necesario que este personaje muriera y mucho menos de la manera tan estúpida en la que sucedió. Qué onda con esos pitillos. ¿Cómo es que los usa como si fueran cuchillos? Esto fue otra de las cosas que me pareció súper estúpido dentro de esta película. ¿Cuál es el chiste ahí? ¿Que esos pitillos son muy gruesos o que son muy duros? No sé pero no me hizo reír, solo me molestó. ¿Por qué usarías un jodido pitillo? Aunque debo aceptar que me dio curiosidad saber cuál es el sabor de la bebida que knuckles tomaba a cada rato.
I hated the casting of Rose. I didn't like Ariana Debose's work. And she's the co-star. I don't know if she did a bad job or if the role she was given was defective from the factory. But the things they did were stupid. Their facial expressions, the deductions they made... From the beginning everything was wrong, sending letters to everyone and sentencing our protagonist to hell, since thanks to her Knuckles killed his boss Cliff Cussick, who was not only his boss but a brother to Marvin, our protagonist. I don't know but it didn't make me laugh, it just bothered me. Why would you use a fucking cigarette? Although I must admit that I was curious to know what flavor the drink that Knuckles drank all the time tasted like.

Los diálogos son súper torpes. Hay un momento de la película en el que Rose le dice a Marvin "qué sorpresa encontrarme esta piedra en tu bolsillo. Esta piedra evita las pesadillas. Yo fui quien te la dio. ¿Por qué la tienes aún?" Okay, obvio estoy medio improvisando el texto porque no lo recuerdo perfectamente pero mi punto es que ¿quién habla así? ¿Quién dice "fui yo quien te la dio"?como explicándole al público que fue ella la que le dio la piedra. Me pareció un intento demasiado torpe de explicar las cosas a través del diálogo. Se sintió súper forzado.Y segundos después ellos se paran en el estacionamiento de una de las casas que él está vendiendo y él se para afuera de la ventana del conductor y le dice "métete en el garaje". La cámara corta y la próxima escena es el abriendo el garaje. No era nada necesario que él dijera métete en el garage. Si solo me mostraban al tipo abriendo la puerta del garaje, era todo lo que yo necesitaba para entender que ese carro se iba a meter ahí. Era como si necesitaban llenar el tiempo de película con diálogos estúpidos porque ya no tenían más escenas de acción.
The dialogue is super clunky. There's a moment in the movie where Rose says to Marvin "what a surprise to find this rock in your pocket. This rock prevents nightmares. I was the one who gave it to you. Why do you still have it?" Okay, obviously I'm kind of improvising the text because I don't remember it perfectly but my point is who talks like that? Who says "I was the one who gave it to you"? As if explaining to the audience that she was the one who gave him the rock. It seemed like a really clumsy attempt to explain things through dialogue. It felt super forced. And seconds later they pull up in the parking lot of one of the houses he's selling and he stands outside the driver's side window and says "get in the garage." The camera cuts and the next scene is him opening the garage. There was no need for him to say get in the garage at all. If they just showed me the guy opening the garage door, that was all I needed to understand that that car was going to get in there. It was like they needed to fill up the movie time with stupid dialogue because they had no more action scenes.

Y dígame todo el asunto de la chica enamorada del poeta que mata con cuchillos. Todo me había gustado hasta el momento en el que ella dice la ubicación de su jefe. Por muchas razones odié eso. La primera de todas es que la chica es una traidora. Ella sabe muy bien que el de los cuchillos quiere matar a su jefe Marvin, pero igualmente le da la información. Muchachos, yo sé que esto es una comedia pero eso fue demasiado irritante. Quizás en ese momento me tuve que haber echado hacia atrás riéndome porque era una situación bastante ridícula pero lo que pasó fue exactamente lo contrario más bien su actitud me molestó. Una de las cosas que disfruté de El asesino de los cuchillos fue su poesía. No puedo decir que todo estuvo mal. El poema que lee la chica cuando descubre el libro de poesía me gustó. Creo que Raven, el asesino de los cuchillos, fue el personaje más interesante después de nuestro protagonista. ¿Qué onda con los dardos de plumas? Tengo muchas preguntas. ¿Tienen veneno? Porque parecían bastante inútiles. Le clavó dos dardos de esos a uno de los matones de knuckles y el tipo seguía peleando no se…
And tell me the whole thing about the girl in love with the knife-wielding poet. I liked everything up until the moment when she tells the location of her boss. For many reasons I hated that. One of the things I enjoyed about The Knife-Warrior was its poetry. I can't say that everything was bad. The poem that the girl reads when she discovers the poetry book I liked. I think Raven, the knife-wielding poet, was the most interesting character after our protagonist. What's up with the feather darts? I have a lot of questions. Do they have poison? Because they seemed pretty useless. He stuck two of those darts into one of Knuckles' thugs and the guy kept fighting, I don't know...

Me voy a quejar de una última cosa, en el segmento final cuando nuestros protagonistas están en la casa del malo knuckles y están rodeados por los hombres de knuckles. Deben recordar que todos los matones tenían armas de fuego. Y cuando salió nuestro protagonista, a quien no le gusta usar armas de fuego, porque obviamente interrumpiría las peleas mano a mano que son todo el fuerte de esta película, los hombres de knuckles como que se olvidan de que tienen armas de fuego y todos sacan sus puños listos para pelear. Eso me pareció súper ridículo. Bueno, para cerrar este Rant, estaba esperando esta película desde hacía tiempo, desde la primera vez que vi el tráiler. Inclusive hablé bien de ella en uno de mis posts en los que adelanto los estrenos más interesantes de febrero. Al menos los que me interesaban a mí. Y creí que esta película iba a estar a la altura. Pero lo único que me pareció que estaba a la altura fueron las secuencias de acción y la actuación de Ke Huy Quan. Todo lo demás es una perdida de tiempo en la que gastaron mucho presupuesto. No me gusta sentir que pierdo el tiempo viendo una película y eso es exactamente lo que me pasó con está cinta. ¿Que piensan ustedes? ¿La recomendarían?
I'm going to complain about one last thing, in the final segment when our protagonists are in the house of the bad guy Knuckles and they are surrounded by Knuckles' men. That seemed super ridiculous to me. Well, to close this Rant, I was waiting for this movie for a long time, since the first time I saw the trailer. I even spoke well of it in one of my posts in which I advance the most interesting releases of February. At least the ones that interested me. And I thought that this movie was going to be up to par. But the only thing that seemed up to par to me were the action sequences and Ke Huy Quan's acting. Everything else is a waste of time and they spent a lot of money on it. I don't like to feel like I'm wasting my time watching a movie and that's exactly what happened to me with this film. What do you think? Would you recommend it?
Que fuerte le diste, he tenido ganas de ver esta película porque es de comedia y para pasar el rato puede funcionar, pero no he tenido el tiempo, ahora no se si verla.
De verdad vuelvo y repito lo único bueno de esta película son las secuencias de acción lo demás me pareció muy torpe. Está muy bien producida se ve bonito pero el contenido es súper básico.
