Celebration of Films... in times of crisis

in Movies & TV Shows5 years ago (edited)

MUBI
, a streaming service founded in 2007 by a Turkey-born entrepreneur, has saved my life during the quarantine days.
Netflix is okay for TV shows, but when it comes to movies, it doesn't offer much. I strongly recommend MUBI to all cinephiles into art-house movies
(I am neither a cinephile nor into art-house movies, not yet at least, but pandemic is forcing me to turn into an intellectual:) - You've got the gist of this sentence, right. My lockdown friend is too intellectual!) And there is no escape for me because we are one, haha!

WHAT IS WE ARE ONE?
Anyways, We Are One is a 10-day online film festival on YouTube. It is starting tomorrow.
If you haven't heard of it before, I am sure you'll thank me for this: www.youtube.com/weareone
Enjoy the show!

I've had access to Mubi for free so months now and I ALWAYS forget about it! Last time I checked they had a bunch of Wong Kar-wai films on there. Time for an annual checkup on Mubi. :^)

I've watched really good movies on MUBI lately. But as far as I know, the movies currently streaming vary by region. So I hope you'll find something worth to watch and won't return empty-handed.

And you're back! Awesome :<)

And, even better, using / promoting Mubi, my favorite movie streaming site.

I have been using it for years and watched Billy Wilder's Fedora (1978) on there yesterday night - a movie that even I hadn't heard of before.

Thank you for pointing out this 10 day online film festival.
The link you provided does not work but it was easy enough to find.

P.S. There's worse things than being locked up with a cinephile / arthouse-movie lover ;<)

Hey, I've just read your latest post and I was thinking about writing a comment saying that how the idea of endless life cycle freaks me out.
We are watching truffaut's antoine doinel series and we watched Bed and Board last night. Tonight's plan is Love on the Run, haha.

I watched a bunch of those Truffaut films too, a couple of months back. That is, most of them aside from my favorite 'Les 400 Coups' that I watched twice in the past :<)

Love on the Run isn't available here which reminds me that the selection is probably different depending on your location.

Bye for now! :<)

P.S.

I was thinking about writing a comment saying that how the idea of endless life cycle freaks me out.

Feel free to leave that comment on my blog, unless it freaks you out too much haha

I like Antoine and Colette the most, but The 400 Blows has made me watch the series in the first place.

Feel free to leave that comment on my blog, unless it freaks you out too much haha

Nos vemos en tu post pronto cuando no tengo miedo.
(I am not even sure if it is correct, si eso es lo que quiero decir, pero it sounds just musical so must be correcto!)

I think more in Portuguese then in Spanish these days. Estos dias, yo pienso más en portugués que en español.

That was a pretty decent sentence of yours.

Yo estoy de espero hasta que estas más valiente ;<) ( had to look up that last word )

Un abrazo!
