Hace unos días hablaba de una Serie de Netflix llamada "Me haces falta" y en el hice énfasis en una película de terror que había visto la cual les iba a comentar luego. Bueno, ha llegado el día y ojalá no sea tarde para ustedes. Y es que no se trata realmente de algo muy bueno lo que les vengo a contar.
A few days ago I was talking about a Netflix Series called “You Miss Me” and in it I emphasized a horror movie I had seen which I was going to tell you about later. Well, the day has come and hopefully it's not too late for you. And it is not really about something very good what I am going to tell you.
Me gusta mucho disfrutar de una buena película de terror aunque hoy en día no las considero tan buenas como antes. Quizás no ha habido alguien que rompa ese cliché de las nuevas propuestas terroríficas del cine. Por ejemplo, una de las últimas películas que vi que en verdad supo hacerme brincar del susto fue el "Fotógrafo" y no la gringa sino la Tailandesa. Sí, es que hay dos versiones y la mejor es la Tailandesa. Qué manera de hacerte brincar del asiento o de agarrar la sábana y taparte por completo. Además de pasar días con un dolor de espalda sin respuesta aparente. En mi caso creo que es la edad ja ja ja...
I really like to enjoy a good horror movie even though nowadays I don't consider them as good as they used to be. Maybe there hasn't been anyone to break the cliché of the new horror movies. For example, one of the last movies I saw that really made me jump with fright was “The Photographer” and not the gringo one but the Thai one. Yes, there are two versions and the best one is the Thai one. What a way to make you jump out of your seat or grab the sheet and cover you completely. Plus spending days with back pain with no apparent answer. In my case I think it's age ha ha ha...
Entonces, buscando algo terrorífico que ver me encontré con Abigaíl. La cual mostraba una sinopsis interesante y de tanto buscar, me decidí por Abigaíl. En realidad fue una de mis peores decisiones pues aunque todo estaba empezando muy bien hubo giros que me ponían a cuestionar si lo que estaba viendo estaba bien o era mejor poner stop y seguir con la búsqueda. Básicamente estaba viendo una película con excesiva publicidad para lo que realmente es, basura sin contenido ni motivo de existir. Una burla al cine de terror con elementos nefastos de acción.
So, looking for something terrifying to watch I came across Abigaíl. It had an interesting synopsis and after so much searching, I decided on Abigail. It was actually one of my worst decisions because even though it was starting out great there were twists and turns that made me question if what I was watching was okay or if it was better to stop and keep searching. Basically I was watching a movie with excessive advertising for what it really is, garbage with no content or reason to exist. A mockery of horror cinema with nefarious action elements.
No creo que la comedia y el terror sea algo que puedan ir en una misma película. Sí, también depende el concepto que se le dé pues pueden de haber parodias como por ejemplo Scary Movie y esto en realidad no es nada en comparación. No entiendo cómo pueden decir algunos que Abigaíl es una buena película cuando en realidad no cuando empiezas a encajar los cabos, no tienen realmente como encajar. Imagínate un piñón sin dientes. ¡No sirve!!
I don't think comedy and horror are something that can go in the same movie. Yes, it also depends on the concept that is given to it because there can be parodies like Scary Movie and this is really nothing in comparison. I don't understand how some people can say that Abigail is a good movie when in reality when you start to fit the pieces together, they don't really fit. Imagine a sprocket with no teeth, it's no good!!!!
Los primeros minutos de verdad estuvieron interesantes tanto que te hace preguntar qué puede ocurrir o qué está pasando. Se trata de una niña de 12 años que ha sido secuestrada y donde resulta que su padre es como decir, el jefe de la mafia y al enterarse los secuestradores a quien se estaban enfrentando empiezan a protegerse de lo que podría pasarles. Por favor no te dejes engañar por lo que acabas de leer Abigaíl es todo un fracaso y una gran burla del cine pero como siempre he dicho esta es solo mi humilde opinión capaz a alguno de ustedes que han visto esta propuesta les guste. Todos tenemos opiniones distintas y como dicen por ahí, es lo hermoso de la vida. No fue una película espeluznante, fue una película de sorpresas que ni graciosas me parecieron.
The first few minutes were actually interesting enough to make you wonder what could happen or what is going on. It's about a 12 year old girl who has been kidnapped and where it turns out her father is like say, the mob boss and as the kidnappers find out who they were dealing with they start to protect themselves from what could happen to them. Please do not be fooled by what you just read Abigaíl is a failure and a great mockery of cinema but as I have always said this is just my humble opinion maybe some of you who have seen this proposal will like it. We all have different opinions and as they say, that's the beauty of life. It wasn't a creepy movie, it was a movie of surprises that I didn't even find funny.
I do not know if many of you have seen it but just in case, my intention is to help you not to waste your time of course this is just my humble opinion. I can't invite you to something I didn't like. It would be like betraying the family so better, pass by and find another movie to watch.

I understand your pain. Abigail was a letdown, from what you shared, but at least The Photographer delivered. Hope your next pick is better than this.
