We Are Always Looking For Something || Series Review.

I have had this show on my watchlist for a long time now. I should have watched it all these while, but time and life activities have kept me so busy that I barely have the time to read, watch movies or even write. So two days ago, I got a few hours of free time and began to watch this TV series titled, ’Tracker’.

I added this TV series to my watchlist because if the lead actor who I once had a crush on when he acted as the Green Arrow in the 2001 tv series ’Smallville’. Since then, I have been all keen to watch any movies he's starred in. He is a fantastic actor who hasn't lost his acting mojo and this recent TV show he starred in further proof how good he has been in the film industry.

’Tracker’ is a crime and action drama with a little bit of comedy. This show was based on a 2019 novel titled, ’The Never Game’ by Jeffery Deaver. So the show’s screenplay was written and created by Ben H. Winters. It starred Justin Hartley, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise and Fiona Rene along with guest actors like Jensen Ackles, and Gil Birmingham.

This series revolves around the life of a young man, Colter Shaw who travels the country, from one city to another in his old-school RV. He does this to earn a living as Tracker who collects bounty rewards to help me find what they lost or are looking for. Sometimes he helps the police and private citizens solve crimes with the help of his small team who work with him in the shadows.

Colter then on a fateful day solved the case of a missing person which involved rescuing a hiker in Nevada, a 14-year-old Gilbert Brown, believed to be with his non-custodial father Edward. This case changed his entire lifestyle. After this case, Colter and his little brother made it their mission to keep on with the work by accepting more bounties to help people across the country.

Things began to work well for Colter and his team until a particular case came his way where he had to find a missing witness to a murder. Colter went down the rabbit hole searching for this witness and suddenly his life was in danger. How would he come out of the mess? Will the case change his lifestyle and passion for his work?

My Review And Rating.

This TV show was worth my time and the watch. I enjoyed it, I loved it, it was entertaining and right now, I am just eagerly waiting for the second season to be out. I can't wait.

The start was thrilling, intriguing and the end left me with a lot of questions that will be answered in the second season. The storyline was well written with the proper amount of good action, intriguing crime stories that leaves the audience holding their breath for the end and the right amount of humor that made the whole series to be very much entertaining.

I love how each character in each episode is fully fleshed out with good back stories that keep up the interest of the viewer. No character in this show fell flat or was forgettable. I think this is so because of the exceptional cast performance. The action scenes were well written and the plot itself was well spanned out through the whole 13 episodes. No episode felt boring, or slow. Also, I noticed that the plot didn't lack sub-plots or potholes.

From the cast, Justin Hartley, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene and Jensen Ackles were my favorite actors. Justin is the main character of this show and I say he was phenomenal with his role. He was convincing and a natural. Eric on the other hand was the comic relief of this show. His humor was dark and sometimes sarcastic. Fiona was amazing, a badass lawyer, who is always there to bill Colter out of his legal problems and she is a fantastic addition to Colter’s team.

Finally, Jensen was an unexpected and fantastic addition to the cast as a guest actor. I was excited to see him in this show. I enjoyed his short role and I hope he comes back full term in the next upcoming season.

Cinematography was amazing, the soundtrack opening theme was perfect, the camera work was excellent and finally all the locations that were used for filming gave this show an adventure outlook which was satisfying and appealing to watch. The scene arrangements were wonderful, suspense from the beginning of each episode and then it ends with a good satisfying resolved ending with all loose ends tied properly.

Rating this series, I will give it 8 out of 10 stars. It was a good series to watch and enjoy for the weekend. It is like an old school flick. It was a nostalgic experience for me. It is not gory, not much use of abusive words, but it is high with kidnap stories and abuse of any sort (trigger warning). If you love watching crime and action, then this show is for you. Also, if you enjoyed ’The Finder (2012)’ series then hurry now and watch this.
