A 2021 spy action film directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
James Bond is retired, now he is in Italy enjoying the company of Madeleine Swann, but when Bond is ambushed he blames Swann, thinking he was betrayed by her, and decides to separate from her and never see her again. Five years later, in Jamaica, James is located by Felix Leiter, a CIA agent, who recruits him for one last mission: Bond must travel to Cuba to kidnap Valdo Obruchev, an MI6 scientist who was recruited by the terrorist organization Spectre.
No Time to Die has everything a 007 movie should have: incredible action sequences, luxurious cars being driven on roads located in remote areas, exotic locations, a dramatic central theme song related to the plot, also the James Bond Theme of course, political intrigue, attractive women involved in some way in the risky mission and all the iconic secondary characters like M, Q, Moneypenny and Felix Leiter assisting the agent with license to kill while he faces multiple henchmen of extravagant villains with ambitious plans to control or destroy the world.
Since the reboot of the franchise in 2006, with the film Casino Royale, was built a character arc that seemed to conclude in the fourth film of this series, however, in this latest film the old wounds are opened symbolically on the grave of Vesper Lynd, condemning Bond to the cold loneliness of the secret agent that pushes him once again to accept a dangerous mission.
The excellent use of the camera, the stylized photography, the careful choreography of the action scenes, elegant costumes and a fantastic production design clearly show that this is a film of unquestionable technical quality.
However, all is not gold in the film, the script has some significant weaknesses; the villain, Lyutsifer Safin, an obvious psychopathic killer, evokes almost no sense of real danger, because the character's introduction, although interesting, more typical of a home invasion movie than a spy movie, leaves the character in a pretty bad situation in terms of his level of danger, when he is partially defeated and when he subsequently does exactly the opposite of what he originally intended to do: the two things happen in the same sequence! Making him the least ruthless villain in the series, something that creates the feeling that the threat is not as great as it is supposed to be. The second problem is also found in the opening sequence too, where a Spectre ring is shown, something that leaves doubts about the time gaps between the events and the ages of the characters.
The performances of the cast with Daniel Craig and Léa Seydoux as main characters, accompanied by Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ralph Fiennes, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Ana de Armas, were fine, most of them with little screen time, especially Ana de Armas, a relatively more important participation was expected of her.
No Time to Die is not the best James Bond movie, however, it is a good movie, very entertaining, with a high technical execution that becomes an interesting ending to the series.

Hey, I went to see it on September 30 at the theatre. A really good movie. Check my own James Bond post here: https://ecency.com/hive-150329/@thereadingman/10-of-my-favorite-james

Thank you very much.
That villain, (Lyutsifer Safin), played by Ramik Malek, did not convince me as well as Léa Seydoux, (Eva Green's shadow is very long). I don't find the performance of the new 007 Lashana Lynch very strong either. Otherwise excellent action and adventure movie that closes the story arc of this James Bond. my concern is for what is to come. A reboot, or will Bond's daughter continue the saga?
Or as once hinted it will be the debut of Idris Elba, Tom Hardy or Tom Hiddleston as James Bond.?.
Excellent review my friend.
Thank you very much.
I guess they will wait a few years to do a new reboot, I really have no idea what will happen with the franchise. I don't think they will continue with this same story, a lot of important characters died, continuing with this story I don't think it makes practically no sense after what we saw in this last film. I think the best thing would be a new reboot and try to change the tone of the films again, try a new style.
I don't think they will try to make any Bond movie with any of those actors. I say that because of the age, their age is not very different from Craig's, if a Bond movie is successful the producers will want to make more. I think they will look for an actor in his thirties.
Although technology is advancing, the idea of prequels could be on the table of the producers, the possibility of using artificial intelligence to make Daniel Craig look a few years younger on screen and narrate stories that happen between each of the films we have seen. Something similar to what happened with Fast & Furious after Tokyo Drift. But I don't know if Daniel Craig intends to continue playing Bond forever.
