Season 8 of History Channel's Alone is in full swing and it's looking like a good season so far! I've created a market on Dublup where you can bet on who you think will win. Dublup.io is a Hive Engine dapp that allows people to create prediction markets. The Alone market will stop taking new bets on July 15 and the market will be resolved on August 30.
If you've never watched Alone, it's probably the craziest survival reality show ever made. 10 people are dropped off in different places in a remote area and they film themselves as they see who can last the longest alone in the wilderness. They are only allowed to bring 10 items. The production and medical teams check in once a week to drop off fresh batteries and to make sure the contestants are staying healthy.
One of the most difficult components of this competition is the contestants have no idea how long they will be out there. They don't know if any other contestants have dropped out. For the last person out there, the medical team shows up like a normal health check, but they bring a loved one who tells them that they won.
Season 8 is taking place at Chilko Lake in British Columbia. It's a very remote place that is full of bears. So far 4 contestants have tapped out.

I think Biko has a real shot at this even though he seems like an unlikely winner. He might not have the same survival skills as the other contestants, but I think he has the best chance at winning a starving game. I also think he's unlikely to be taken out by loneliness.
Clay is currently my top pick. I still only have money on Nate, but I'm planning on buying some Clay shares after I make this post. Mentally, Clay seems ready to spend a year out there. He doesn't spend all day missing his family and instead focuses on his survival. The last episode ended on a cliff hanger, but it looks like Cliff is about to have a lot of food on his hands real soon.
Colter lives on his own in Alaska, but I don't think he has very much of a chance at this. The way he drank directly out of the stream in his intro episode it makes me think he's a little reckless. I'll be very surprised if Colter wins it.
I put money on Nate before the first episode aired. He just had a look that reminded me of the winner of Season 7. I think he's got a good chance to win the competition, but age may become a factor as winter sets in and the snow starts falling. I think Nate's got the grit, but I have doubts that his body is as tough as his mind.
There hasn't been much footage of Rose. Contestants that are as thin as she is don't usually make it very far. She's outlasted 4 people, so maybe she's a lot tougher and more resourceful than she looks.
Theresa is also one that I really think has a chance to win this thing. Normally I'd never bet on a woman to win Alone because no woman has ever won it, but Theresa might have what it takes. Her underground shelter may be a huge factor for her survival in the snow. But it's going to be crucial for her to make up for the calories that she burned making it. As long as the shelter doesn't flood, I think it will be a huge asset. I'm definitely buying a few shares of Theresa.

I didn't know anything about this reality show, I'm going to take a look at some episodes. The contestants have to have strong physical and mental conditions to win it, and also be a little bit crazy XD

It is really hard to guess because the smallest thing could make someone tap out.
I like Biko because he has a good head on his shoulders, is funny, has plenty of fat reserves, and is from Oregon. (my State)
