Ayer, mi esposo, mi hermana y yo teníamos ganas de ver una película, pero somos 3 personas con personalidades y gustos muy diferentes, así que encontrar una que nos convenciera a todos iba a ser una tarea algo complicada, al final quedaría alguien en desacuerdo. Pero pasó algo interesante, mi esposo nos recomendó una película de la cual solo ha leído buenas reseñas, una historia profunda catalogada en el género de "terror psicológico", de nada más y nada menos que el director de "Get out"(que nos encantó).
Lo pensamos un poco, pero ajá, le tuvimos mucha fe al director por su anterior éxito, así que caímos en la trampa y nos dispusimos a ver "Nope". |
Yesterday, my husband, my sister and I wanted to see a movie, but we are 3 people with very different personalities and tastes, so finding one that would convince us all was going to be a somewhat complicated task, in the end there would be someone in disagreement. But something interesting happened, my husband recommended us a movie of which he has only read good reviews, a deep story categorized in the genre of "psychological horror", from none other than the director of "Get out" (which we loved).

La película tiene un comienzo muy misterioso y algo atemorizante, que es precisamente lo que te crea la sensación de "¿Qué está pasando?" y te engancha instintivamente, casi que de inmediato, dije: Bueno, ahora viene lo bueno.... No fué así
Luego de esa gran escena, nos presentan a uno de los personajes principales OJ(Daniel Kaluuya) quién se desempeña como entrenador de caballos para Hollywood, negocio que le enseñó su padre y viene de varias generaciones. A diferencia de su papá, O.J. es algo tímido y retraído, le cuesta un poco demostrar su carácter. |

Debido a un acontecimiento lamentable en su vida, O.J. debe continuar solo con el negocio y aquí es donde interviene el personaje que le da un toque de comedia a la historia, su hermana Emerald(Keke Palmer), quién es todo lo contrario a él, pues esta chica es divertida, segura de sí misma, ocurrente y no está comprometida con el negocio familiar, hasta que lo mencionado anteriormente sucede.
Mientras su hermano piensa en cómo pueden salvar el negocio, un día por casualidad comienza a notar que están pasando cosas en el pueblo donde viven, que abre paso a lo sobrenatural, aquí es donde la película comienza a fallar. |

Ellos comienzan a investigar y descubren algo a lo que pueden sacarle provecho, ya que si logran captarlo en cámara, pueden venderlo a las productoras, y es ahí donde comienzan a trabajar en equipo, por primera vez en sus vidas. Lo que no veía en este punto era el terror, ¿Dónde está el terror? Comenzamos con un suceso impactante y luego vemos cómo se iba convirtiendo en una película de ciencia ficción.
De paso, fué aburridamente larga, todo pasó como en cámara lenta y de vez en cuando continuaban la historia del inicio, pero la verdad es que no aportó nada en la trama en si. |

Mi hermana se rindió después de los 45min, gracias a la película cayó en un sueño profundo, al menos la ayudó a descansar 😅 Mi esposo y yo ya estábamos fastidiados, pero después de tanto tiempo queríamos conocer el final, razón por la cual nos decepcionamos más.
¿Qué podemos rescatar? La elección de lugar donde se llevaron a cabo los eventos y la ambientación quedaron fueron bastante acertadas, algunas escenas quedaron impecables, lo efectos especiales fueron sobresalientes y el sonido muy acertado a la hora de resaltar los momentos de tensión. |
My sister gave up after the 45min, thanks to the movie she fell into a deep sleep, at least it helped her rest 😅 My husband and I were already annoyed, but after so long we wanted to know the ending, which is why we were more disappointed.
What can we rescue? The choice of location where the events took place and the setting were quite successful, some scenes were impeccable, the special effects were outstanding and the sound was very successful in highlighting the moments of tension. |

Las actuaciones estuvieron geniales, por eso me molestó que se desaprovecharan en semejante historia, que la verdad, no me generó ni un poquito de interés o suspenso. Algunos personajes me parecieron innecesarios, creo que quisieron mezclar la comedia, suspenso, ciencia ficción, aventura, pero no lograron compaginar entre sí.
2h y algo en una historia bastante sosa, catalogada como "terror" que no me atrevería a recomendar, pero claro está, desde mi punto de vista. Fué bastante decepcionante 😔 |
The performances were great, that's why it bothered me that they were wasted in such a story, which to tell the truth, didn't generate even a little bit of interest or suspense. Some characters seemed unnecessary to me, I think they wanted to mix comedy, suspense, science fiction, adventure, but they didn't manage to combine them.

I didn't really like this director's previous film, I hope to see this one soon, but I don't have high expectations. I've seen that they have positive reviews, but I didn't like US, so I don't know what to expect from this filmmaker. Get Out was a good movie and I enjoyed it, but US disappointed me a lot. When I see this one I'll let you know what I thought of it.
Hey! Ya había olvidado Us, y tienes razón, es malísima 😅 No sabría decir cuál fué peor, pero creo que Us ganó. Si te animas a verla y nos compartes tu opinión, por fa me etiquetas, capaz puedes salvar algo de todo lo que quisieron demostrar.

Sheesh! The story is usually everything for me even if the actors are Oscar awardees. Oh well, I hope the story writer does better in the future after seeing the reviews.
Hopefully! Because with Get out he did excellent, I don't know why he presented such a story, boring and too much fantasy.

Es bueno conocer estas opiniones negativas para así no hacerse grandes expectativas sobre determinadas películas que, como esta, puede generar algo de interés por las obras anteriores de su creador. A mí me gustó mucho Get out, luego vi Us y no me desagrado del todo, pero no fue tan buena a mi parecer, ahora está por lo que dices continua en descenso respecto a los trabajos anteriores de Jordan Peele. Hey! Get out fué increíble, pero Us se alejó muchísimo a nivel de calidad y entretenimiento. Capaz y si la vez salves una que otra cosa, por eso, aunque no la recomiendo, no es lo mismo que te la cuenten a verla 😅
Saludos , bueno con esta película quería entrenarme pero aún no entendí el final no sé si la hermana estaba viendo al hermano real o solo era un sentimiento de aprobación que la hacía verlo,de paso no sale origen ni nada detallado acerca de la criatura, y en que no es terror tienes razón .
