what would you do if you had to choose between your wife and your child??
What would you do if the only way you stay alive is to choose which one dies and which one lives?

Reality is cursed. Spend the money wisely.

Hello everyone, the title of the movie I'm about to review is choose or die. It is a horror movie based on a video game that gives its players only two options, choose or die. It was released in April 15 2022, by Netflix.

It starts by telling the story of a man who has a dysfunctional type of family. His son and wife get into an argument, and he gets into his room. Locking the door behind him. Then his computer glows bright green with the words choose or die. Having only the option to choose between cutting off his son's tongue or cutting his wife's ear. He hesitates for a while trying to run out of the room before he is met with a high-frequency sound. That forces him to make a decision. Leading to his son losing his tongue.

Then we meet Kayla who is a girl struggling to take care of her poor and grieving family. Her family is facing an eviction notice, within the same period she lost her baby brother. Who drowned in a pool.

Kayla works for a company that pays her for cleaning an empty level of a building which, she and her co-worker try to figure out why?? But eventually concluded that it doesn't matter.

Kayla visits her friend Isaac, who is a game creator and is working on a new model for his game. He models a character after Kayla who is impressed the this. She knows Isaac has a crush on her, and she likes him too but the only problem is that Isaac was always too busy making games and models to even think about her. So she doesn't focus on her feelings for him.

During her visit to Isaac's home, she finds a weird video game. And she decides to play the game in a cafe with Isaac. But Isaac was as usual busy as always.

She then sits alone in the cafe and starts to install the game. When a nice waitress walks up to her and asks to take her order. She casually replies that she's not ready, waving a smile at the waitress who agrees to return to take her order.

The game installs completely and begins to act weird, describing her exact activities in real-time. She gets flustered for a moment before the screens glows' green with the words coffee or cake.

She pauses for a moment before choosing coffee. The waitress appears suddenly and frightens her by pouring coffee into the mug next to her. The waitress apologizes for this before returning.

Kayla stares into the screen with disbelief when another green question appears again. This time it seemed simple and harmless, take a break or continue?. She without hesitation picks a break and instantly the waitress begins to break glassware horrifyingly.

She freaks out immediately, and her screen immediately flashes green again, this time displaying a new question clean up or continue.

She innocently chooses to clean up and the waitress again horrifyingly begins to chew and swallow the broken pieces of glass.

Guys, this is my first horror movie and honestly, it was crazy watching this bloody display of horror.
For me, it felt like I was watching a Jumanji (the original board game version and not the recent video game version) only with times ten of the horror.
There are problems I have with the movie like firstly why does the main character always have to be stupid??

Let me explain, there was a scene where the game forced her to relive her brother's death. Luckily she had her friend Isaac present, he had never seen the game in action before but when the game starts again for level 2 ..she begins to see her dead brother and started following him through the dangerous route while her friend Isaac ran after her.
So I start to ask myself shouldn't she have known better?? I mean her brother is dead and she knows that level two of the game already started. So why run after your ghost brother?? Why??!
There are still a lot more problems but this one is just the main issue for me.

Apart from that, I think for my first official horror movie, it was an amazing watch. And I enjoyed the final level horror game, where she battled against the boss of the game, it was a real epic boss fight, because of the sick boss reveal and twisted history uncover.
It wasn't a bloody mess movie. But it was horror enough for me to watch.
Please note that the death scene is nothing to write home about, practically, it does not exist.

Finally.

This statement, Reality is cursed. Spend the money wisely. Was repeated severally in the film I initially thought it was referring to money, but it turned out to be a statement referring to reality, and the ability to manipulate others' reality by manipulating your reality. That kind of power needs to be spent wisely.

I realized the movie is not very horrifying as I was able to stomach most of the kills. So, if you're looking to start watching horror movies, I would recommend you start with this. It's a good watch.

Thanks for sticking around.

A few days ago I shared my opinion about this movie with another user of the community and I still keep it and I share it with you.

The film certainly has a touch of originality that differentiates it a little bit from the rest of movies that go the same way and which I will not mention since I'm sure you know which ones I'm talking about and that the truth in many has left a bad taste in their mouths.

With this one something very interesting happens and is that the beginning and its final part are for me the most interesting since they show something that at least I had not seen and that kept me interested, but half of the film seemed to me very weak and as you mention something flat, without a good argument and for me without rhythm, much less with an attractive effect for the viewer became somewhat repetitive and boring until they come to stomp to lift that little that is left.

I hope they bring better movies and get out of their comfort zone, I believe with all my heart that the film industry should change and bring new things.

Greetings! @hdprinter

I will be checking this out, I am a horror movie fan and I enjoy them a lot, also this review has impressed me to watch it.
