Hello, beautiful people of the hive! Today I'm going to tell you about the beginnings of my adolescence with Lizzie Mcguire, or good girl Mcguire as they announced in the Disney trailer. I was 12 years old at that time, seeing a girl with hormonal changes for those moments was something new for me, and I came to feel identified, what I didn't know is that this series by the stereotypes that left us was going to change my life and for the better.
¡Hola gente bonita de hive! Hoy voy a hablarles de los inicios de mi adolescencia con Lizzie Mcguire, o buena niña Mcguire como anunciaban en el tráiler de Disney. Yo tenía en esa fecha 12 años de edad, ver a una niña con cambios hormonales para esos momentos era como algo nuevo para mi, y me llegaba a sentir identificada, lo que no sabía es que esta serie por los estereotipos que nos dejaba iba a cambiar mi vida y para bien.
I waited to see her every Monday and Wednesday at about 8:30 pm on Zapping Zone, but when there was a time change I hated it because I had to wait until late at 10:30 pm, with intervals not only of commercials but also of games. My eagerness to see Lizzie Mcguire was so great that my mom even called her by her nickname, (no ma'am @sofitere, I was not going to stop watching her ha, ha, ha, ha...,) while I was still in the choir of "Los niños cantores de Caicara del Orinoco" I had a little friend that I called Lizzie and she called me Miranda.
Esperaba por verla todos los lunes y miércoles a eso de las 8:30 pm en Zapping Zone, pero cuando había cambio de horario lo detestaba mucho porque debía esperar hasta muy tarde en la noche a las 10:30pm, con intervalos no solo de publicidades sino también de juegos. Era tanto mi afán por ver a Lizzie Mcguire que mi mamá llegó a ponérmela de apodo, (no señora @sofitere, no iba a dejar de verla ja, ja, ja...,) mientras seguía en la coral de "Los niños cantores de Caicara del Orinoco" tenía una amiguita a la que yo le llamaba Lizzie y ella a mi como Miranda.
What did I like about Lizzie Mcguire? Her hairstyles, her colorful clothes, her friends Miranda and Gordo who were in some ways different from the ones we conventionally knew, wanting to set themselves apart from the rest.
¿Qué me gustaba de Lizzie Mcguire? Sus peinados, su ropa colorida los amigos Miranda y Gordo que eran en cierto modo diferentes a los que convencionalmente conocíamos, queriendo diferenciarse del resto.
Her mother's and father's advice, her teachers' advice. Her conscience was the best part and obviously, the one that hooked me the most with her out-of-context but funny analogies (It was the imagination of a teenager), the connection she developed with her mother throughout the series teaches us the beauty of growing up.
Los consejos de su madre y su padre, los de sus profesores. Su conciencia, era la mejor parte y obvio la que mas me enganchaba con sus analogías fuera de contexto pero graciosas (Era la imaginación de una adolescente), la conexión que fue desarrollando con su madre a lo largo de la serie nos enseña lo bello de crecer.
I always found her brother's witty banter, the rivalry with her nemesis Kate Sanders, Cheerleader of the cheerleading team who proves in one episode that she was not so much a knucklehead as she was more competitive and her platonic crush on Ethan Craft the cutest guy in school (who was actually a knucklehead), hilarious.
Siempre me hicieron muchísima gracia las ocurrencias de su hermano, la rivalidad con su némesis Kate Sanders, Animadora del equipo de porritas quien demuestra en un episodio que no era tan cabeza hueca sino más bien era más competitiva y su enamoramiento platónico por Ethan Craft el chico más lindo del colegio (quien en realidad era un cabeza hueca)
The episodes I remember most clearly are defined by Gordo changing schools because he was the smartest kid in his class, moving up to high school, and returning because he couldn't adapt to the change. Lizzie falling in love and dating the paperboy, and crying because she already had a girlfriend at her high school and Gordo acting as a shoulder to cry on, who was actually the first to have him heartbroken.
Los episodios que recuerdo con más claridad se definen con Gordo cambiando de escuela porque era el mas cerebrito de su clase, adelantándose a la preparatoria y regresando porque no podía adaptarse al cambio. A Lizzie enamorándose y saliendo con el repartidor de periódicos, y llorando porque ya tenia novia en el colegio donde estudiaba y Gordo haciendo de hombro donde llorar, quien en realidad fue el primero en tener su corazón roto.
The Peter Pan syndrome, as Gordo called it, we didn't want to grow up, this was what Lizzie Mcguire left us, viewers, with, and this is when Gordo has his Bar Mitzvah on his thirteenth birthday.
El síndrome de Peter Pan, como lo llamaba Gordo, no queríamos crecer, esto fue los que nos dejó Lizzie Mcguire a sus espectadores, y es aquí cuando Gordo tiene su Bar Mitzvah al cumplir sus trece años de dead.
Who remembers when Lizzie and Kate teamed up and ended up creating a secret bond of friendship?
¿Quiénes recuerdan cuando Lizzie y Kate hicieron equipo y terminaron creando un lazo de amistad secreto?
The truth is that Lizzie is one of the youth series that I had the most fun with as a child. I cried when they canceled Disney from DIRECTV and I jumped with happiness when I found out that there was a movie, she was a rock star when she arrived in Italy but it was a girl named Isabela very popular in Italy and is confused with her and thus creating another of her many entanglements, Kate is her accomplice this time and helps her in this great adventure. You won't stop listening to her song "this is what dreams are made of", I enjoyed it, hahaha....,
Lo cierto es que Lizzie es una de las series juveniles con las que más me divertí de niña. lloré cuando cancelaron Disney de DIRECTV y brinqué de felicidad cuando me enteré que tenia película, era una estrella de rock al llegar a Italia pero se trataba de una chica llamada Isabela muy popular en Italia y es confundida con ella y así crear otro de sus tanto embrollos, Kate es su cómplice esta vez y la ayuda en esta gran aventura. No parara de escuchar su canción "this is what dreams are made of", la gozé, jajaja...,
And now it comes with a new series which would be its third season, to Lizzie's fans this is a piece of nice news, with what new entanglements are coming? What new stories mother and daughter bring us, are some of the unknowns that brings us and I remain faithful to Lizzie and I hope to continue watching it.
Y ahora se viene con una nueva serie la cual seria su tercera temporada, a los fans de Lizzie esto es una agradable noticia, ¿con que enredos nuevos se viene? ¿Qué nuevas historias madre e hija nos trae?, son algunas de las incógnitas que nos trae y sigo siendo fiel a Lizzie y espero seguir viendola.
