Although I liked Sherlock, I don't consider it the best of television in recent times. As for the female characters in the series, I think that is one of its weak points, it is a series where the story is driven by male characters. I can compare it to another British series called Luther, where there was a really intriguing, strong and attractive female character for the viewer. Long before Sherlock there were other characters that were better written and are part of other masterpieces of the small screen. Tony Soprano, is an example of a well written and developed character, of course they are very different series. In my case, the best series is The Wire. Sherlock is above all entertainment well done, but The Wire is a series that delves into social problems, especially in the city of Baltimore, but that can easily be transferred to the reality of many other cities anywhere in the world, where corruption and crime are the daily bread.
