When it was announced, I was a bit surprised, since I didn't really understand why give a series to this character, when there were some more known and loved ones... but just by watching the first episode, I was totally introduced, and I was looking forward to the next one. This series of 8 episodes, managed to surprise me a lot, has a story from beginning to end very irreverent, with a sense of black humor and crude (Just the kind of humor of James Gunn). All this accompanied by very, very charismatic characters, and a narrative and story that combined brilliantly the funny moments with very emotional moments. As I was saying, from the first chapter Peacemaker grabs you completely... this character is quite questionable, haha, and I really don't think it's necessary to watch The Suicide Squad movie to understand it completely, it's easy to understand.
Anyway, as I was saying, this character is a racist anti-hero (who considers himself a hero, the best hero). In addition to also having misogynistic, crazy and violent behaviors… This curious asshole is recruited by a secret division of the government, to do a mission, what follows after this is a super crazy journey, where nothing is what it seems... James Gunn proves once again his talent to take unknown, one-dimensional characters... and enhance them by giving them nuances, a very entertaining story to watch, imbuing it with all his vision and way of storytelling.

Hola a todos! Amantes de las buenas historias, espero que se encuentren de maravilla el día de hoy, querida comunidad de Movies and TV Shows. Quiero compartirles el día de hoy una nueva reseña, esta vez de una serie increíble! No sé si habrán visto la película de: The Suicide Squad, dirigida por James Gunn, si no la han visto pueden encontrar mi reseña en mi blog. En fin, esta película tuvo un recibimiento muy bueno, y de ella se desprendió esta serie, enfocada en uno de sus protagonistas, así es, hablo de Peacemaker. Esta serie es una completa joya, de lo mejor que tuvo el universo de DC antes, muchas personas la consideraron como “la seria que salvo a DC” y es que su calidad es indiscutible.Cuando se anunció, quede como algo sacado de onda, ya que no entendí muy bien por qué darle una serie a este personaje, habiendo algunos más conocidos y queridos.. pero fíjate, que con solo ver el primer capítulo, quede totalmente introducido, y esperaba con muchas ansias el siguiente. Esta serie de 8 episodios, me logro sorprender mucho, tiene una historia de principio a fin muy irreverente, con un sentido del humor negro y crudo (Justo el tipo de humor de James Gunn). Todo esto acompañado de personajes muy, muy carismáticos, y una narrativa e historia que combino genialmente los momentos graciosos con momentos muy emotivos. Como les comentaba, desde el primer capítulo Peacemaker te atrapa completamente.. este personaje es bastante cuestionable, jaja, y la verdad no creo que sea tan necesario ver la película de The Suicide Squad para entenderla completamente, es fácil de entender.
En fin, como les decía, este personaje es un antihéroe racista (que se considera un héroe, el mejor héroe). Además de también tener conductas misóginas, alocadas y violentas... Este curioso imbécil es reclutado por una división secreta del gobierno, para hacer una misión, lo que sigue después de esto es todo un viaje super alocado, donde nada es lo que parece.. James Gunn demuestra una vez más su talento para tomar personajes desconocidos, unidimensionales.. y mejorarlos dándole matices, una historia muy entretenida de ver, impregnándole toda su visión y manera de contar historias.
The well known John Cena does great in this main role, this main character manages to be so obnoxious, vulgar, and funny... you can see he put a lot of effort into this performance haha. His good performance mixes in an excellent way all that awkwardness, naivety, and a little touch of tenderness that, although it seems impossible, makes you empathize with him... little by little you discover his “true” face, making him a more human character, who like everyone, is full of flaws. John Cena undoubtedly steals every scene where he appears with his great charisma, although, the Peacemaker would be nothing without his incredible supporting cast.
All of them bring very cool, and convincing performances... My favorite without a doubt was Vigilante, he is a too funny and nonsensical character (just how I like them) who has a way of being quite crazy, and innocent.... This character is a sociopath whose only motivation is to be Peacemaker's best friend, every time he appears and see him interact with the other characters, it's great haha. Also the other secondary characters, that end up being part of the team, are good characters, they are there for their own thing, and they all feel well organic within the team... they have that chemistry that many times give funny moments, I appreciate this a lot.

El conocido John Cena lo hace increíble en este papel principal, este protagonista logra ser tan odioso, vulgar, y gracioso.. se ve que le puso mucho esfuerzo a esta actuación jaja. Su buena interpretación mezcla de una excelente manera toda esa torpeza, ingenuidad, y un toquecito pequeño de ternura que, aunque parezca imposible, hace que logres empatizar con él.. poco a poco vas descubriendo su “verdadera” cara, volviéndolo un personaje más humano, que como todos, está lleno de defectos. John Cena sin duda roba cada escena donde aparece con su gran carisma, aunque, el Peacemaker no sería nada sin su increíble elenco de apoyo.Todos ellos aportan actuaciones muy geniales, y convincentes... Mi favorito sin duda fue Vigilante, es un personaje demasiado gracioso y sin sentido (justo como me gustan) que tiene una forma de ser bastante loca, e inocente.. Este personaje es un sociopata cuya única motivación es ser el mejor amigo de Peacemaker, cada vez que aparece y verlo interactuar con los demás personajes, es genial jaja. También los otros personajes secundarios, que terminan formando parte del equipo, son buenos personajes, están ahí para lo suyo, y se sienten todos bien orgánicos dentro del equipo.. tienen esa química que muchas veces dan a pie momentos graciosos, esto lo agradezco bastante.
What impresses me the most about this series is its way of handling such different tones... one moment you are dying laughing, because of the stupidity of the main characters, or because of some joke... And the next moment, instantly you're almost on the verge of tears. This kind of changes are super useful to make the viewers enjoy the series a lot, because not everything is laughter, and not everything is absolute seriousness. James Gunn made of a character that could seem flat, a series that was consecrated as the best of the year in which it premiered, with a comedy that characterizes him quite a lot, and does it in a way that also addresses important issues for today's society ... such as racism, childhood trauma, domestic abuse, and redemption.
This series knows how to explore in an entertaining way the roots of our protagonist, and something very important.. how hate, can be passed down from generation to generation, how most times we adapt terrible traits from our parents or caregivers without realizing it.. this series invites you to reflect, and makes you see that not because past generations had hate and resentment, that means we have to be the same, change can happen in each one, the cycle must end. It's great to see the touching arc of this character, and his slow but sure evolution towards being a better person...

Lo que más me impresiona de esta serie es su manera de manejar tonos tan diferentes.. en un momento estás muriéndote de risa, por las estupideces de los protagonistas, o por alguna broma.. Y al siguiente momento, al instante estás casi al borde de las lágrimas. Este tipo de cambios, son súper útiles para hacer que los espectadores disfruten mucho de la serie, ya que no todo es risa, ni todo es seriedad absoluta. James Gunn hizo de un personaje que podría parecer plano, una serie que fue consagrada como las mejores del año en que se estrenó, con una comedia que lo caracteriza bastante, y lo hace de una manera en la que trata también temas importantes para la sociedad actual.. como el racismo, el trauma infantil, los abusos intrafamiliares, y la redención.Esta serie sabe explorar de una manera entretenida las raíces de nuestro protagonista, y algo importantísimo.. como el odio, puede transmitirse de generación en generación, como la mayoría de veces adaptamos terribles rasgos de nuestros progenitores o cuidadores sin darnos cuenta.. esta serie te invita a reflexionar, y te hace ver que no porque las generaciones pasadas tuvieran odio y resentimiento, eso significa que nosotros tengamos que ser igual, el cambio se puede dar en cada uno, el ciclo debe terminar. Es genial ver el conmovedor arco de este personaje, y su lenta pero segura evolución hacía ser una mejor persona..
Talking about the technical aspects of this series... I think Peacemaker is very well done, the photography is very good, it has a vibrant color palette, and in other shots more muted... giving a sense of melancholy in key scenes. The special effects also look very good, specifically all those related to the unbridled action that live this team, this series also has a very good dose of action, some interesting script twists... And cameos in the final episodes that I really liked.
The soundtrack... uff, one of the best of the series, it has old rock themes, like from the 80s, that brings a lot of personality to the series.. and the INTRO, god, the INTRO, what a great opening... it is so absurd, but at the same time so addictive, it is easily one of the best I have seen, many times the song and the choreography stayed in my head, many people made parodies of it... it is very cool. If I had to put a flaw to this series... I would say that the first few episodes may take a little while to move the plot forward, they take their time to get going strong, but once the series gets into the rhythm, it becomes very addictive. Peacemaker was quite an achievement, for a DC that had already failed a lot before with its productions. It combines in a great way black humor, emotional depth and unforgettable characters, that you will surely want to see more and more. I give this series a good 9.5/10.
I had an amazing time watching it, it's the perfect proof that when done right, even the most questionable and funnable characters, can become your favorite characters... I definitely recommend it if you like acid humor, action, and in general the superhero-antihero type series. Hablándoles de los aspectos técnicos de esta serie.. creo que Peacemaker está muy bien hecha, la fotografía es muy buena, tiene una paleta de colores vibrante, y en otras tomas más apagadas.. dando sensación de melancolía en escenas clave. Los efectos especiales lucen también muy bien, específicamente todos aquellos relacionados con la acción desenfrenada que viven este equipo, esta serie también tiene una muy buena dosis de acción, algún giro de guion interesante.. Y cameos en los episodios finales que me gustaron mucho.La banda sonora.. uff, de lo mejor de la serie, tiene temas de rock viejito, como de los 80s, que le aporta mucha personalidad a la serie.. y la INTRO, dios, la INTRO, qué pedazo de apertura.. es tan absurda, pero a la vez tan adictiva, fácilmente es de las mejores que he visto, muchas veces la canción y a coreografía quedaron en mi cabeza, muchas personas hicieron parodia de ella.. está muy genial. Si tuviera que ponerle algún defecto a esta serie.. diría que puede ser que los primeros episodios cuesten un poco para hacer avanzar la trama, se toman su tiempo para arrancar con fuerza, pero una vez la serie agarra el ritmo, se vuelve muy adictiva. Peacemaker fue todo un logro, para un DC que ya había fracasado mucho anteriormente con sus producciones.. Combina de manera genial el humor negro, profundidad emocional y personajes inolvidables, que seguramente querrás ver más y más. Le doy un buen 9.5/10 a esta serie.
Me la pase increíble viéndola, es la prueba perfecta que cuando se hace bien, incluso los personajes más cuestionables y funables, pueden convertirse en tus personajes favoritos.. sin duda la recomiendo mucho si te gusta el humor ácido, la acción, y en general las series del tipo de superhéroes-antihéroes. Pacemaker es brutal, es una prueba de que James Gunn es un crack en lo que hace. Estoy esperando la segunda temporada que ya se está filmando. Y bueno lo de John Cena también es para resaltar, de los actores más versátiles que hay actualmente, es un tipo genuinamente gracioso. Es una serie que lleva el género de los superhéroes a otro nivel, junto con The Boys es lo más top que hay.

No soy de ver producciones de heroes o cosas así. Es interesante que se utilice la antipoda; es decir, lo contrario a un heroe y toque temas susceptibles.
Hay muchas series y películas que usan esta premisa, y aunque sea un elemento narrativo característico, hace que la historia sea superbuena e interesante, saludos! 👋

No sé, pero a mí no me gustó. Quizás ese tipo de humor no me guste pero no la encontré interesante, le perdí interés pero de igual manera la terminé de ver.
Me gustó tu post porque también noté mucho de lo que dices con respecto al racismo y la influencia de los padres, así como el maltrato intrafamiliar. Pobre de ese niño que creció con ese viejo tan malo.
