Lokesh Kanagaraj connects Kamal Haasan's 1986 movie Vikram with his own 2019 movie Kaithi's spy-rich world, an action-packed world of drug rulers and police officers in Vikram's predictable behavior. .. We. .. Therefore. It stuffs the mysteries of spy movies and offers some of the thrills of action movies, but it's not completely satisfying and doesn't leave the euphoric feeling you'd expect. A movie with such high ambition promises. The film got off to a great start when Karnan, the father of police martyr Prapanchan, was murdered. We know that there were many such killings, with a group of masked men claiming responsibility and calling it their war against the system. Sheriff Jose has brought in an undercover investigation team led by Amar, who has begun to learn about Karnan's life. The prime suspect is Santhanam, a terrifying drug trafficker with a large family looking to transport materials that could turn him into a drug trafficker. Amar, on the other hand, is confused by many versions of Carnan. Is he an alcoholic father mourning the loss, orgy, or more of his son? More importantly, is he alive or dead? Vikram works best in the first half, as Amar and his team try to resolve the murder and track down the murderer. Kamal Haasan rarely appears in these episodes, but he continues to feel his presence as both a character and an actor. From Nayakan to Ambeshibam, there are references to Kamal's lovers, and their discovery gives chills. Also, the actor who is in action ter mode here gets a quiet moment leading to a break. And Vijay Sethupathi seems to be playing a ruthless villain, leaving where he left the master. But once the predictable mysteries surrounding Karnan are unraveled, the story becomes much simpler. A small group of police officers is tasked with fighting an army of gangsters. Similar to Kaithi, but less effective here. To his credit, Lokesh tries to provide an emotional flow, with a subplot involving Karnan and Prapanchan's baby, but it's not impactful enough. And the arcs involving Amar and Santhanam also become predictable. Fahadh's Amar has been more or less wiped out while Vijay Sethupathi looks like he's trying too hard. Narain, as Bejoy, Kaithi's honest cop, also goes unnoticed. Even Suriya's much-hyped cameo, which serves as a setting for the upcoming "Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe" episode, is a bit disappointing. The action scenes, while well-choreographed, never let us rush. However, the most popular moment in action hero movies is the stunt scene involving a female character. More moments like this are needed for Vikram to be truly unforgettable.
