Estos días he estado algo estresada porque mi proveedor de internet parece que va a dejar de prestar servicio, los censuraron por motivos que desconozco y creo que ya para mayo tengo que empezar a buscar otra compañía de internet, lo que me tiene estresada porque no hay muchas opciones en la zona donde vivo, pero bueno vamos a ver que resuelvo. Mientras tanto he estado aprovechando todos estos días para ver películas y no quedarme sin material de que hablar por si llego a pasar unos días sin internet o con el internet de la compañía local que es muyyy lentoooo y me recuerda a las perezas de Zootopia jajajaja, en fin, entre las películas que he visto está The Fall Guy una comedia romántica que es bastante enredada porque también tiene acción y algo de misterio, así que no sé como definirla.
La película trata de un doble de acción llamado Colt Seavers que según es el mejor haciendo acrobacias locas para el actor Tom Ryder, el se había retirado del negocio por un accidente pero lo volvieron a llamar para que trabajara en la película que la está dirigiendo nada más y nada menos que su ex Jody, aquí es donde el tipo aprovecha de recuperar su relación y bueno no voy a decir la típica frase “como todos los hombres” pero si es cierto que algunos tratan de recuperar lo que no valoraron y perdieron cuando se dan cuenta que la embarraron, claro no vayan a pensar que estoy juzgando al pobre Colt porque yo soy fan de las segundas oportunidades, además en la peli ellos se separan por el accidente y no porque el haya metido la pata. Pero bueno volviendo al tema, el hecho es que con esto se desarrolla toda la parte romántica de la película y el misterio tiene que ver con la desaparición del protagonista Tom Ryder y es Colt el que tiene que encontrarlo.
Después de explicarles toda esta ensalada de mezcla de géneros que no estoy en contra pero si me pareció que había mucho de todo, debo decirles que las escenas de acción son bastante buenas, una de mis favoritas es cuando Colt está en un contenedor de basura que es arrastrado por el tráfico y este va girando por toda la ciudad con todo el tráfico en pleno y se ve bastante real, esta parte me estresó bastante porque pensé que un carro lo iba a pisar, realmente no sé como hicieron en la vida real para que esto no sucediera. Otra cosa que me gustó fue como muestran parte de la magia de las películas en cuanto a como hacen las escenas de acción para que parezcan reales, me hizo recordar a un programa que veía cuando estaba niña sobre los dobles de las películas y los riesgos que estos tenían, estaba tratando de recordar su nombre pero no lo logré, no sé si todavía lo pasan en la TV y pensándolo crudamente el trabajo de los dobles de acción es el más riesgoso y el menos valorado.
El protagonista de The Fall Guy es Gosling que hace lo suyo como Colt, yo creo que Ryan tiene experiencia en todos estos géneros, es encantador, divertido y serio a la vez, yo por lo menos quedé enamorada con su papel en The Notebook. También está Emily Blunt que hace de Jody y lo hace bien como siempre, yo la he visto en varias películas pero siempre recuerdo su actuación en The Girl on the Train, es que la película la vi por Edgar Ramírez y siempre la recuerdo jajaja. Lo cierto es que Jody está toda estresada tratando de que la película no falle y para rematar su ex vuelve a aparecer y Aaron Taylor Johnson que hace el papel de Tom Ryder el actor desaparecido, es muy chistoso parece como que si metieron en una licuadora a Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt y Matthew McConaughey, aunque su papel sea pequeño lo aprovecha al máximo.
El final es loco porque los que yo creía que eran los malos no lo son, la película también da ese mensaje del lado oscuro de Hollywood y de cómo los que están detrás de las cámaras pueden ser realmente malos y esto enlaza con el tema de la importancia de los dobles y otros miembros del equipo en la realización de una película, es como un reconocimiento a los que están detrás de cámara que figuran únicamente en los créditos y muchas veces no, me gustó ver una película que no tiene miedo de mostrar como se hacen las cosas desde adentro.
Pero como no todo es perfecto y debo decidir un puntaje para darle a The Fall Guy le doy un 7.2/10 y es porque sentí que pudo haber sido una mejor película y no explotaron bien su potencial, aunque considero que no es un mal puntaje, de hecho me gustó la peli pero sentí que el ritmo no es adecuado y como es una mezcla de género fue difícil centrar alguno, entonces los momentos emocionales como que no terminaban de cuajar, como digo yo. A veces parecía que se centraban más en las acrobacias, en algún momento hasta me olvidaba de que el protagonista de la película de Jody estaba desaparecido, además nunca vi una razón válida para que Colt fuera el encargado de buscar a Tom más que agregar un punto más a la historia.

The movie is about a stuntman named Colt Seavers who according to him is the best at doing crazy stunts for actor Tom Ryder, he had retired from the business because of an accident but they called him back to work in the movie that is being directed by none other than his ex Jody, Here is where the guy takes the opportunity to recover his relationship and well I'm not going to say the typical phrase “like all men” but it is true that some try to recover what they did not value and lost when they realize they messed up, of course do not think I'm judging poor Colt because I'm a fan of second chances, plus in the movie they are separated by the accident and not because he has messed up. But well back to the subject, the fact is that with this the whole romantic part of the movie is developed and the mystery has to do with the disappearance of the protagonist Tom Ryder and Colt is the one who has to find him.
After explaining all this salad of genre mixing that I'm not against but if I thought there was a lot of everything, I must tell you that the action scenes are pretty good, one of my favorites is when Colt is in a dumpster that is dragged by traffic and this goes spinning all over the city with all the traffic in full and it looks quite real, this part stressed me quite a bit because I thought a car was going to step on him, I really do not know how they did in real life so that this did not happen. Another thing I liked was how they show part of the magic of the movies in terms of how they do the action scenes to make them look real, it reminded me of a show I used to watch when I was a kid about stuntmen in movies and the risks they had, I was trying to remember its name but I couldn't, I don't know if they still show it on TV and thinking about it crudely the work of stuntmen is the most risky and the least valued.
The lead in The Fall Guy is Gosling who does his thing as Colt, I think Ryan has experience in all these genres, he is charming, funny and serious at the same time, I at least fell in love with his role in The Notebook. There is also Emily Blunt who plays Jody and she does well as always, I have seen her in several movies but I always remember her performance in The Girl on the Train, I saw the movie because of Edgar Ramirez and I always remember her hahaha. The truth is that Jody is all stressed out trying to make sure the movie doesn't fail and to top it off her ex shows up again and Aaron Taylor Johnson who plays the role of Tom Ryder the missing actor, is very funny it seems like they put Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey in a blender, even though his role is small he makes the most of it.
The ending is crazy because the ones I thought were the bad guys are not, the movie also gives that message of the dark side of Hollywood and how those behind the cameras can be really bad and this ties in with the theme of the importance of stuntmen and other crew members in the making of a movie, it's like a recognition to those behind the camera who are only listed in the credits and many times not, I liked seeing a movie that is not afraid to show how things are done from the inside.
But as not everything is perfect and I must decide a score to give to The Fall Guy I give it a 7.2/10 and it's because I felt it could have been a better movie and they didn't exploit well its potential, although I consider it's not a bad score, in fact I liked the movie but I felt that the pace is not adequate and as it's a mix of genre it was difficult to focus any, then the emotional moments kind of didn't end up curdling, as I say. At times it seemed like they focused more on the stunts, at some point I even forgot that the main character in Jody's movie was missing, plus I never saw a valid reason for Colt to be the one in charge of looking for Tom other than to add one more point to the story.
