The new Batman is an interesting work that combines cinema noir with a well-paced crime plot.
Batman in this version is darker and much younger, the events take place in his second year as a dark avenger.
Watching the film you feel mesmerized by this world, though at the same time the charm is combined with the darkness.
Beautifully realized, many scenes are a real masterpiece, lighting worked to perfection and showing the characters from different sides works very well. It's hard to find such a nicely made film in DC, we have long shots like in a dark crime story, but also quick cuts during fights like in the Arkham Asylum game. The editing is very carefully done, you can see how the scenes fit perfectly with the music that is playing in the background giving a gloomy and at the same time grotesquely stimulating atmosphere.
The city on one hand is full of color and life like in Blade Runner, on the other is bathed in darkness, dirty and full of madness.
Already the opening scene is a strong reference to The Knight Returns, namely the scene in the subway.
Well realized and giving the first indication of the kind of character we are going to be dealing with.
The initial monologue just makes us realize that this is going to be a great work of crime noir, where the narrative will be a strong factor in understanding the plot.
The new Batman has an intriguing plot and even gives us the opportunity to take part in unraveling it.
Throughout the film, different puzzles will unfold, and the solution of one will lead to another, to give us one of the most interesting finales, which will cause a big surprise. For three hours the film engages the viewer to figure out what the antagonist is really up to and why he has concocted such a crazy plan.
Paul Dano has created an extremely intriguing character as the Riddler, who is the opposite of Batman. He wears the costume, he wants to save Gotham, but at the same time he's falling deeper and deeper into madness.
This isn't the ridiculous Riddler that Jim Carreay was, here we get an antagonist who is honing his plans to perfection while playing with the hero.
He exposes every aspect of power, while striking a blow in the least expected place. He becomes the voice of the mute, the eyes of the blind.
He hosts streams where he shows increasingly lofty and at the same time crazy speeches, where he shows the evil in the city.
He creates riddles because at the same time he wants to be captured, Batman enters this game and gets more and more lost in it all.
Riddler's riddles are reminiscent of the real ones created by Zodiac, playing with the police.
Another character is the titular Batman, not a playboy, but rather a lost young man who, despite the huge amount of money he has, prefers to avoid people if he can, living in an old subway line where he creates his legend.
Bruce has problems, not only physical after successive blows, but we see him fighting hard against his demons so he can solve this mystery. The demons haunt him throughout the film showing why he is in this place. The appearance of Riddler gives his life the pace it needs, though it's a bit of a stretch to say he's absorbing this mission entirely.
**Robert Pattinson's performance is superb, with a look of weariness in his eyes and a desire to find a cure for the terror that reigns.
I also have to mention Penguin, who doesn't have much of a role here, but it's very well integrated into the story. Penguin like a vase sneaks through where the evil is happening. An interesting character.
Director Matt Reeves takes a lot of cues from 30's cinema but adds a lot of his own. The mysteries themselves are very interestingly paced, though the finale ruins this unusual castle of cards a bit.
You can see here the commitment to the detective story, the director does not create a superhero, but a detective who prefers to hide his face from the world in order to solve the mystery in peace.
Many compare this film to Seven and on the one hand there is a bit of a point, although only when it comes to building the atmosphere, everything else is here in an interesting way.
There is a love story in the film but it is more of a poisoned thorn in Batman's side than something more serious.
The whole thing looks surprisingly good, there are victims so they did their best here to give the story more of a message. Each evil character represents something, so we get a range of different characters and motivations.
Batman in the film will be helping Gordon and that help will be very much needed both ways, Batman can't do everything by himself, while Gordon can't do many things because he is a police officer.
Batman is the best detective movie from the dc world, although it lacks a bit to the Joker it is clear that dc went more in the direction of getting rid of the fun and funny characters in favor of more real problems like corruption and mafia connections.
It should also be mentioned that the Joker appears in the film, even though the scene itself lasts about a minute, the new Joker already seems to me to be the craziest of all.
**To sum it all up, this is a well-made movie, which will not bore the viewer with its mysteries, and the characters that Batman will meet are colourful enough to make us want to know what will happen to them.
It's a 3 hour detective story where evil plays with good and shows him that revenge is never good.

Nowy Batman to interesujące dzieło łączące kino noir z dobrze poprowadzonym wątkiem kryminalnym.
Batman w tej wersji jest mroczniejszy i dużo młodszy, wydarzenia dzieją się w drugim roku jego istnienia jako mroczny mściciel.
Oglądając film czujemy się zahipnotyzowani tym światem, choć jednoczenie urok jest połączony z mrokiem.
Pięknie zrealizowany, wiele scen to istny majstersztyk, dopracowane do perfekcji oświetlenie i ukazanie bohaterow z różnych stron działa bardzo dobrze. Tak ładnie zrealizowanego filmu ciężko znaleźć w DC, mamy tutaj długie ujęcia niczym w mrocznym kryminale, ale i szybkie cięcia w czasie walk niczym z gry Arkham Asylum. Montaż jest tutaj starannie poprowadzony, widać jak sceny idealnie komponują się z muzyka która leci w tle nadając ponury i jednocześnie groteskowo pobudzający klimat.
Miasto z jednej strony pełne kolorów i życia niczym z Blade Runnera, z drugiej skąpane w ciemności, brudne pełne szaleństwa.
Już początkowa scena jest mocnym nawiązaniem do The Knight Return, a mianowicie scena w metrze.
Dobrze zrealizowana i dająca już pierwszy sygnał z jakim bohaterem będziemy mieć do czynienia.
Początkowy monolog wręcz tylko uzmysławia nam, ze będzie to świetne dzieło z gatunku kryminał noir, gdzie narracja będzie mocnym czynnikiem dla zrozumienia fabuły.
Nowy Batman ma intrygująca fabule, wręcz daje nam widzom możliwość wzięcia udziału w jej rozwikłaniu.
Przez cały film będą się przetaczać różne zagadki, a rozwiązanie jeden będzie kierować do kolejnej by ostatecznie dać nam jeden z najciekawszych finałów, które spowoduja duże zaskoczenie. Film przez 3 godziny angażuje widza by mógł sam rozgryźć co tak na prawdę ma na celu antagonista i dlaczego uknuł tak szalony plan.

Tworzy zagadki gdyż jednocześnie chce być schwytany, Batman wchodzi w ta grę i coraz bardziej gubi się w tym wszystkim.
Zagadki Riddlera przypominają te prawdziwe, które tworzył Zodiak, bawiąc się z policja.
Kolejna postacią to tytułowy Batman, nie jest to playboy, a raczej zagubiony młody człowiek, ktory pomimo ogromu pieniędzy woli unikać ludzi jeśli tylko może, żyje w starej lini metra, gdzie tworzy swoją legendę.
Bruce ma problemy, nie tylko fizyczne po kolejnych ciosach, ale widzimy jak mocno walczy ze swoimi demonami by mógł rozwiązać ta zagadkę. Demony go prześladują przez cały film pokazując czemu jest w tym miejscu. Pojawienie się Riddlera nadaje jemu życiu odpowiedniego tempa, choć to trochę na wyrost widać, ze wchłania ta misje w całości.
Robert Pattinson gra świetnie, widzimy w jego oczach zmęczenie i jednocześnie chęć znalezienia lekarstwa na panujący terror.
Trzeba jeszcze wspomniec o Pingwinie, który tutaj nie ma co prawda zbyt dużej roli jednak jest ona bardzo dobrze wpisana w cała historie. Pingwin niczym waz przemyka tam gdzie zło się dzieje. Ciekawa postać.
Reżyser Matt Reeves czerpie garściami z kina lat 30, ale dodaje wiele od siebie. Same zagadki bardzo ciekawie poprowadzone, choć finał trochę rujnuje ten niezwykły zamek z kart.
Widać tutaj oddanie dla kryminału, reżyser nie tworzy superbohatera, a detektywa, który woli ukrywać swoją twarz przed światem by moc spokojnie rozwikłać zagadkę.
Wielu porównuje ten film do Seven i z jednej strony troszkę jest racji, choć tylko jeśli chodzi o budowanie klimatu, wszystko inne jest tutaj na swój sposób ciekawie poprowadzone.
Wątek miłosny w filmie się pojawia choć bardziej jest on tylko takim zatrutym kolcem wymierzonym w Batmana niż coś bardziej poważnego.
Całość prezentuje się zaskakująco dobrze, są ofiary wiec tutaj się postarali bardziej by nadać historii większego przesłania. Każda zła postać coś ze sobą reprezentuje, wiec dostajemy wachlarz najróżniejszych charakterów i motywacji.
Batman w filmie będzie pomagał Gordonowi i ta pomoc będzie bardzo potrzebna w dwie strony, Batman sam nie zrobi wszystkiego, zaś Gordon nie może wiele rzeczy zrobić bo jest policjantem.
Batman to najlepszy film detektywistyczny ze świata Dc, choć troszkę brakuje mu do Jokera to widać, ze Dc bardziej poszło w stronę by pozbyć się radości i śmiesznych postaci na rzecz bardziej realnych problemów jak korupcja czy mafijne układy.
Trzeba jeszcze nadmienić, ze w filmie pojawia się postać Jokera, choć sama scena trwa około minuty to nowy Joker już wydaje mi się, ze będzie najbardziej szalonym ze wszystkich.
Reasumując to kino świetnie zrealizowane, które przez zagadki nie będzie nudzić widza, zaś postacie jakie spotka Batman są na tyle barwne, ze będziemy chcieli wiedzieć co się stanie z nimi.
To 3 godzinny kryminał, gdzie zło bawi się z dobrem ukazując mu, ze zemsta nigdy nie jest dobra.

Wow a new Batman movie! It would be interesting to watch it with Robert Pattinson and I imagine it was quite a challenge for him, considering the actors who have played this character such as Christian Bale and George Clooney! I can't wait to see it 😁
