Again I get myself with a very good premise that could be handled better, however in this case it was not a complete disaster and I will try to give my opinion as neutrally as possible despite how frustrating it is for an original idea to go down the drain.
Extinction poses an interesting situation. Peter, has recurring dreams of an invasion, so we might think at first that it is something paranormal but it is very far from that and I really like how they solve this situation giving a special twist to almost the end of the film.
De nuevo me consigo con una premisa muy buena que se pudo manejar mejor, sin embargo en este caso no fue un completo desastre y tratare de dar mi opinión lo más neutralmente posible pese a lo frustrante que es que una idea original se vaya por el garete.
Extinción plantea una situación interesante. Peter, tiene sueños recurrentes con una invasión, por lo que podríamos pensar al principio que se trata de algo paranormal pero está muy alejado de eso y me agrado mucho como resuelven esta situación dándole un giro especial a casi el final de la película.

Después de largos minutos de espectacularidad Hollywoodense se nos revela que los invasores son seres humanos que luchan contra seres sintéticos, es decir inteligencias artificiales que lograron equipararse al ser humano.

Con todo esto la película plantea una situación interesante que yo mismo he pensado. Con ideas muy cercanas a las planteadas por Isaac Asimov o Philip K. Dick, todo este escenario hipotético puede ser algún día parte de nuestra realidad. Me considero una persona en pro de la filosofía transhumanista y el desarrollo tecnológico de inteligencias artificiales, hay un potencial enorme que nos puede dar un salto evolutivo que no podríamos conseguir de manera biológica.
El humano siempre tendrá una tendencia a temer a lo desconocido y también a lo que es similar a él. Que otra forma de vida en este caso basada en silicio en vez de carbono aparezca en nuestro escenario puede parecer amenazador, el mismo Stephen Hawking hablo en una oportunidad de ello, pero en términos generales considero que una inteligencia artificial no necesariamente tendría que estar en contra de nosotros a menos que nosotros provoquemos un conflicto, cosa que no le veo mucha dificultad.

We consider as life any product made with DNA because we do not know other different forms of life. Perhaps being "alive" is not really what is important but the ability to perform tasks and evolve. If an artificial intelligence is not considered a living being because it lacks DNA, it should also be a respected entity with rights due to the fact that it has a conscience and feelings. We give rights to animals because they are in a certain way similar to us but we are afraid of giving them to our own creation, becoming a tyrant God.
Sin embargo cualquier escenario es posible y no descarto la posibilidad de uno como Terminator o The Matrix. En cualquier caso la propuesta de esta película es muy interesante porque nos hacen ver el otro lado de la historia, el lado de las inteligencias artificiales, que no necesariamente deben ser las malas de la historia.
¿Por qué no habría de darles derechos civiles a una entidad que es capaz de sentir, pensar y tener recuerdos? Una entidad con estas capacidades y de ser consciente de su existencia y de la de otros, capaz de empatizar y colaborar creo que debería tener los mismos derechos que los humanos, pero el egoísmo es algo innato en nosotros y el proceso de concientización hacia algo nuevo es lento.
Consideramos como vida todo producto hecho con ADN porque no conocemos otras formas de vida diferentes. Quizas el estar “vivo” no sea realmente lo importante sino la capacidad de ejecutar tareas y evolucionar. Si una inteligencia artificial no es considerada un ser vivo por carecer de ADN de igual manera debería ser una entidad respetada y con derechos por el hecho de tener una consciencia y sentimientos. Les damos derechos a los animales porque son de cierta manera símiles a nosotros pero tenemos miedo de dárselos a nuestra propia creación convirtiéndonos en un Dios tirano.
Of course I would support an annihilation of synthetic beings if they rebel without any need but what I see as a more than likely scenario is that they wish to maintain a symbiotic relationship with their creators unless humanity is acting in a deranged way destroying an entire ecosystem , which is not impossible.
What can be criticized about this production is the protagonist who does not quite fit into his performance, the excessive action that ends up being unnecessary and may have focused on more transcendental themes such as the very premise of the film. I cannot say that the plot is a complete waste but it was not handled in the best way and I hope that in the future there will be another production like that that better executes the premise.
The result is average bordering on the mediocre but that does not mean that it ceases to be an enjoyable film, yes, only once. Personally, I don't see myself watching this movie again and, boy, Netflix has become an expert platform at ruining good ideas.
Por supuesto que apoyaría una aniquilación de seres sintéticos si estos se rebelan sin ninguna necesidad pero lo que veo un escenario más que probable es que estos deseen mantener una relación simbiótica con sus creadores a menos que la humanidad esté actuando de manera desquiciada destruyendo todo un ecosistema, cosa que no es imposible.
Lo criticable de esta producción es el protagonista que no termina de encajar en su performance, la excesiva acción que termina siendo innecesario pudiendo haberse enfocado en temas más transcendentales como la premisa misma de la película. No puedo decir que es un completo desperdicio la trama pero si no fue manejada de la mejor manera y espero que un futuro se haga otra producción por el estilo que ejecute mejor la premisa.
El resultado es promedio rayando en lo mediocre pero no por ello deja de ser una película disfrutable, eso sí, una sola vez. En lo personal no me veo viendo esta película de nuevo y vaya que Netflix se ha convertido en una plataforma experta en arruinar buenas ideas.
Tremenda película casualmente la acabo de ver. Jamás me imaginé que los humanos eran los invasores de la mismísima tierra, y está era habitada por sintéticos. Para mí fue entretenida y se deja ver.
