Hola, amigos. Hoy quiero hablar de una película que me encantó durante mi infancia, de tal forma que aún me acuerdo de ella casi por completa. Les hablo de El Gigante de Hierro, una película que a pesar de ser de 1999, sigue siendo una excelente propuesta animada.

I first saw this movie when I was about 10 years old. As a child, it captivated me, and one of the reasons it did was its story. What child or teenager wouldn't want a friend like that?

Uno de los puntos fuertes de la película son los personajes. Hogarth es un niño curioso y valiente que representa la inocencia de la infancia. Pero el centro de atención es el Gigante. A pesar de su apariencia monstruosa, se convierte en un símbolo de pura bondad y amistad. Al ser incapaz de recordar su origen lo hace parecer inocente, semejante a un niño. Es imposible no enamorarse de este personaje, y su relación con Hogarth. Destacando mensajes como la tolerancia y el miedo a lo desconocido, aunque el que más me cautivó es la amistad y el sacrificio. Recordándonos la importancia de elegir quiénes queremos ser y cómo queremos ser percibidos por los demás.

La verdad nunca había escuchado sobre esta película pero se ve que tiene un mensaje importante y quizás por eso es una de esas que se mantiene a través del tiempo.
