I think we've all seen or heard of Godzilla since we were children, this new movie commemorates the 70th anniversary of the franchise and it's the second movie since Godzilla in 2014, I had expectations and I found it interesting to see what this new version was like. Would it be a true representation of the character that made Godzilla a great icon or would it be a failure like some of the other Godzilla films? For me it has been a great film, capable of impressing with the chaos of the monsters and at the same time paying homage to the previous films and bringing something new. I remember that in the first scene I was amazed by the grandeur of what was being portrayed. the scene that opens the film is ideal in that it offers a great image of the main character and of the monster itself, from the beginning of the film it is obvious that it is not going to be a typical monster movie as the audience is introduced to the problems of post-war Japan and the mood of the people at that time. The work done in the representation of this era is admirable, the costumes and the mayhem that represent Japan in the 40s are impressive.
Creo que todos hemos visto o escuchado de Godzilla desde que eramos niños, esta nueva película conmemora el 70º aniversario de la franquicia y es la segunda película desde Godzilla en 2014, tenía expectativas y me resultaba interesante ver cómo era esta nueva versión. ¿Sería una verdadera representación del personaje que hizo de Godzilla un gran icono o sería un fracaso como algunas de las otras películas de Godzilla? para mí ha sido una gra película capaz de impresionar con el caos de los monstruos y al mismo tiempo rinde homenaje a las películas anteriores y aporta algo nuevo. Recuerdo que en la primera escena me quedé pasmada con la grandiosidad de lo que se estaba representando, la escena que abre la película es ideal de tal forma que ofrece una gran imagen del protagonista principal y del propio monstruo, desde el principio de la película es obvio que no va a ser una típica película de monstruos ya que se introduce al público en los problemas del Japón de posguerra y en el estado de ánimo de la gente de aquella época. El trabajo realizado en la representación de esta época es admirable, el vestuario y el desmadre que representan el Japón de los años 40 son impresionantes.

There are sometimes long gaps between Godzilla's appearances, but these gaps are used to describe the consequences of war and calamity, to search for the meaning of existence of people who have lost everything in the process of searching for the meaning of life.

In my opinion, the last scene is the best example of what can be called the essence of this movie, it is still able to have an epic scope and feel rooted enough to be a story about these characters we have come to care about, while also giving us the big fight against the monster you would expect from a Godzilla movie. I also thought the way the story concluded was strong, referencing the themes of redemption and the value of life that have been explored throughout the story.

All this combined makes the film a good experience. This movie is a reminder of why Godzilla has remained relevant as a cultural symbol for almost seventy years and a testament to the fact that there is still a lot more that can be squeezed out of this old warhorse of a franchise. Score 8.7/10.
