The story is very dark and may not be enjoyable but it made me think a lot and that's what I appreciate most in a movie that makes me question, think and ask myself questions.

I agree, basically the main theme about the movie is that these inhumain things happen around the main house with screams in the background while everyone just continues to live and enjoy there lives.
If you like the ask yourself question and If you want something to think about when it comes down to this movie here is what I would say my main takeaway.
The meat industry is 100% the same if not worse as it's on a much larger scale. So I bet that 90% who watch this movie come out thinking about how inhumain the situation in the movie was wondering how it can be that they didn't see it and just went along with their lives. This while before the movie they themselves likely went out enjoying a nice steak which is exactly the same thing.
Exactly, another example is the fashion industry, or the trafficking of women and children, there are many issues that make you reflect and think if at some point I have been part of it.
