Esta película se estrenó en 1999, dirigida por Rob Minkoff está basada en el libro homónimo de E.B. White, cuenta con la mezcla de imagen real con imagen echa a computadora. Es una película del género acción, aventura y comedia, una perfecta película familiar.
La familia Little quiere adoptar un pequeño, ya que si hijo Geoger quiere un hermanito, por lo que estos le prometieron que si tendría su hermanito, ellos adoptan a un pequeño ratón llamado Stuart, ellos lo aman y lo cuidan como lo hacen con su otro hijo, en ningún momento lo hacen sentir diferente, pero George no se adapta tan fácilmente a este nuevo hermano, ya que no era lo que él esperaba, a esto le sumamos que tiene una mascota Llamada Snowbell (pelusa) al que tampoco se le ve feliz con que él sea parte de la familia, por lo que ingenia un plan con sus amigos para deshacerse de él.
Esta historia comienza con los Little, el señor, la señora Little y su pequeño hijo Geoger, ellos habían decidido adoptar un niño, George espera con ansias su hermanito mientras ellos van a buscarlos, ellos se ven una familia muy buena, muy feliz y muy humildes, ellos se dirigen al orfanato de su ciudad, donde vemos gran cantidad de niños en busca de un hogar, cuando en eso escuchan una voz que no ven de donde viene, cuando ven a un pequeño ratón que lleva tiempo esperando que lo adopten, pero pues nadie lo adopta debido a que es un ratón.
Los Little como son personas tan de buen corazón lo adoptan y le dan la oportunidad a este pequeño ratón de formas parte de su familia, este se llama Stuar, al llegar a la casa, su gato de mascota casi se lo come, en eso llega George de la escuela y conoce a su nuevo hermano Stuar pero para él no es fácil asimilar que su hermano es un ratón, se niega a aceptarlo, pero sus padres no lo tratan diferente, es su hijo.
aquí lo que no entiendo es como Stuart puede hablar con animales y con los humanos, es lo único que siento que no me cuadra pero bueno jaja
Snowbell, que es el gato de la familia, es bastante gruñón y se quiere deshacer de Stuar… Stuar intenta adaptarse a su nueva vida y su nueva familia, pero le cuesta un poco ya que tiene algunos accidentes como que cae dentro de la lavadora, cuando quieren irle a comprar ropa tienen que ir a una tienda de juguetes ya que donde más podrían buscar ropa de su tamaño?
Esa misma noche tienen una reunión en donde le van a presentar a su nuevo miembro familiar, todos se ven muy carismáticos y aceptan a Stuar sin problema, estos le traían varios regalos, pero ninguno los podrá usar, ya que él es bastante pequeño, no podrá jugar con nada, todos son bastante positivos hasta que llega George molesto y le dice que si están locos, que es un ratón, no es su hermano.
Un gato callejero llega a la casa a visitar a pelusa y que le compartiera de su comida, cuando se da cuenta de que ahora su nuevo “amó” es un RATÓN, ya que si, es raro ver a un ratón con un gato de mascota, pelusa intenta desquitarse con Stuar y mientras escapa entra sin querer al cuarto de George y empiezan a jugar un rato, ve todos los juguetes y constas de George hasta que ve un lindo velero que estaba construyendo para una carrera, pero a la que se desanimo por miedo a perder, pero Stuar lo convence de volver a la competencia.
Luego vemos a Pelusa que le pide ayuda a sus amigos callejeros para deshacerse de Stuar y todos lo ayudan ya que esto podría dañar la reputación de los gatos.
Luego llega el día de la carrera y vemos a todos los niños con sus veleros, pero en eso llega un niño todo odioso que intimida a George por lo que hace que esté tenga miedo otra vez, Stuar va a buscar el control del velero, pero es mucho más grande que el, y como había tanta gente se lo pisan y lo terminan destruyendo, por lo que ya no podrán concursar, pero Stuar decide ser el mismo el que maneje el velero, sus padres y George no se dan cuenta hasta que él arranca.
Todo iba bien hasta que el niño que anteriormente les mencioné intenta hundir el velero con Stuar, pero este se la ingenia y termina ganando la carrera, para este punto George y Stuar ya se llevan de maravilla y celebran su triunfo con toda su familia, todo estaba yendo de maravilla, eran una familia feliz, hasta que suena la puerta y ven a una pareja de ratones que están buscando a Stuar, aparentemente son sus padres, estos cuentan que abandonaron a Stuar por ser muy pobres y que no tenían cómo cuidarlo, pero ya que pueden lo quieren de vuelta, los Little claro que no estaban de acuerdo pero al final deciden que eso podría ser lo mejor para el.
George le regala su carrito de juguete para que se pueda movilizar, ambos se extrañan mucho, los Little se sienten bastante vacíos sin la presencia de Stuar y Stuar no siente que encaje con esa familia. Un día la mujer del orfanato llega a darle información a la señora Little de sus padres de Stuar, ya que ellos anteriormente estaban averiguando un poco de su pasado pero no encontraban nada de él, esta les cuenta que los verdaderos padres de Stuar murieron aplastados por unas latas y es aquí donde se dan cuenta que los engañaron y se llevaron a su hijo.
Pelusa va con el jefe de los gatos que fue el que ingenio todo, pero como ahora todos descubrieron la verdad deciden que es mejor desaparecerlo por completo, así que habla con los ratones y le dicen que se lo den para comérselo, pero estos se sienten culpables por lo que deciden decirle la verdad, Stuar se alegra de saber que su verdadera familia son los Little y se va camino a casa a altas horas de la noche mientras que toda su familia estaba imprimiendo volantes para buscar a Stuar.
Stuar va camino a casa y se consigue a los gatos, pero logra escapar, este llega a la casa Justo cuando todos salen a repartir los volantes, se encuentra solo pelusa, este le dice que todos se fueron a celebrar que estaba solos de nuevo, Stuar no le cree hasta que ve que habían recortado su cara de la foto familiar (pero eso lo hicieron para los volantes) decide irse y dejarlos felices por lo que se va todo triste.
Los Little llegan a la casa y George se queda al lado del teléfono esperando a ver si alguien llama a avisar algo de Stuar, hasta quedarse dormido. Pelusa se encuentra a los gatos y dicen que ya se fue de la familia, que ya lo dejen en paz pero obviamente ellos no aceptaron, pelusa va al parque y ve a Stuar en un nido, este intenta advertirle que está en peligro pero los demás gatos se dan cuenta, pelusa se lo lleva para salvarlo y le cuenta toda la verdad, llegan a casa y George lo llega a ver por la ventana y aquí termina esta película, con todos juntos de nuevo siento una familia.
Esta película es bastante divertida, Stuar es un ratón adorable, que una actitud enternecedora, se que tiene bastante inconsistencias o cosas sin lógica alguna, principalmente la gente dirá “por que adoptan a un ratón” y sencillamente es el punto de la película, cualquiera puede ser parte de tu familia, todos tienen derecho a una vida digna, tiene una buena temática familiar, bastante educativa Con buen ambiente y grandes personajes, cuenta con un buen guion.
Esta película tiene opiniones muy divididas, ya que es odiada por unos y amada por otros, pero siento que cumple su función y es una excelente película, no podemos odiarla solo porque “adoptaron una rata en vez de a un niño”, en mi caso me pareció una buena película y nos trae bastante nostalgia y lindos recuerdos ¿ustedes la aman o la odian? The Littles, as they are such good-hearted people, adopt him and give this little mouse the opportunity to be part of their family, this one is called Stuar, when he got home, his pet cat almost ate him George arrives from school and meets his new brother Stuar but it is not easy for him to assimilate that his brother is a mouse, he refuses to accept it, but his parents do not treat him differently, it is his son.

Stuar tries to adapt to his new life and his new family, but it's hard for him a bit since he has some accidents like falling into the washing machine, When they want to go shopping for clothes, they have to go to a toy store because where else could they find clothes in their size?
That same night they have a meeting where they are going to introduce their new family member, they all look very charismatic and accept Stuar without any problem, they brought him several gifts, but none of them will be able to use them, since he is quite small, no he will be able to play with nothing, everyone is quite positive until George arrives annoyed and tells him that if they are crazy, that it is a mouse, it is not his brother.
A stray cat comes home to visit lint and to share his food, when he realizes that now his new "love" is a MOUSE, since yes, it is rare to see a mouse with a pet cat , lint tries to get even with Stuar and while he escapes he accidentally enters George's room and they start playing for a while, he sees all the toys and you see George until he sees a nice sailboat that he was building for a race, but to which he is discouraged out of fear of losing, but Stuar convinces him to return to the competition.
We then see Fluff asking her stray friends for help to get rid of Stuar and they all help him as this could damage the cats reputation.
Then the day of the race arrives and we see all the children with their sailboats, but then a very obnoxious boy arrives who bullies George so that he is afraid again, Stuar goes to seek control of the sailboat, but it is much bigger than him, and as there were so many people they step on it and end up destroying it, so they will no longer be able to compete, but Stuar decides to be the one to drive the sailboat, his parents and George do not realize until he starts up.
Everything was going well until the boy I mentioned before tries to sink the sailboat with Stuar, but Stuar manages it and ends up winning the race, at this point George and Stuar already get along great and celebrate their triumph with their whole family, everything it was going great, they were a happy family, until the door rings and they see a couple of mice that are looking for Stuar, apparently they are his parents, they say that they abandoned Stuar for being very poor and that they had no way to take care of him, but since they can they want him back, the Littles of course did not agree but in the end they decide that this could be the best thing for him.
George gives him his toy car so he can get around, they both miss each other a lot, the Littles feel quite empty without Stuar's presence and Stuar doesn't feel like he fits in with that family. One day the woman from the orphanage arrives to give information to Mrs. Little about her Stuar parents, since they were previously finding out a little about his past but they did not find anything about him, she tells them that Stuar's real parents were crushed to death by some cans and this is where they realize that they were deceived and took their son.
Fluff goes to the head of the cats who was the one who invented everything, but now that everyone has discovered the truth, they decide that it is better to disappear him completely, so he talks to the mice and they tell him to give him to eat him, but they feel guilty so they decide to tell him the truth, Stuar is glad to know that his real family is the Littles and heads home late at night while his whole family was printing fliers to look for Stuar.
Stuar goes on his way home and gets the cats, but manages to escape, he arrives at the house Just when everyone goes out to distribute the flyers, he finds only fluff, he tells him that everyone went to celebrate that he was alone again, Stuar doesn't believe him until he sees that they had cut his face out of the family photo (but they did that for the flyers) he decides to leave and leave them happy so he leaves all sad.
The Littles arrive at the house and George stays by the phone waiting to see if someone calls to report something about Stuar, until he falls asleep. Fluff meets the cats and they say that he has already left the family, that they should leave him alone but obviously they did not accept, fluff goes to the park and sees Stuar in a nest, he tries to warn him that he is in danger but the others cats realize, fluff takes him to save him and tells him the whole truth, they get home and George gets to see him through the window and here ends this movie, with everyone together again I feel like a family.
This movie is quite funny, Stuar is an adorable mouse, what an endearing attitude, I know that it has a lot of inconsistencies or things without any logic, mainly people will say "why do they adopt a mouse" and it is simply the point of the film, anyone can be part of your family, everyone has the right to a decent life, it has a good family theme, quite educational With a good atmosphere and great characters, it has a good script.
This film has very divided opinions, since it is hated by some and loved by others, but I feel that it fulfills its function and is an excellent film, we cannot hate it just because "they adopted a rat instead of a child", in my case I thought it was a good movie and it brings us a lot of nostalgia and nice memories.
