Hola hola gente te bonita de Hive, que placer estar nuevamente en esta comunidad para contarles mi opinión acerca de esta mini serie donde se tratan temas tan delicados como el cáncer y que es basada en hechos reales.
Llegué a Vinagre de Manzana el fin de semana pasado como recomendación de Netflix después de ver el caso "Inventando a Anna", que también es basada en una historia real, Les daré mi opinión prontito. Me pareció una historia bastante interesante e indignante, que vale la pena ver, y aunque hay algunas cosas que se cambiaron se relata bastante claro la historia de Belle Gibson.

I came to Apple Vinegar last weekend as a Netflix recommendation after watching the "Inventing Anna" case, which is also based on a true story. I will give you my opinion soon. I found it to be a very interesting and outrageous story, worth watching, and although there are some things that were changed, the story of Belle Gibson is told quite clearly.

Miniserie de TV (2025). 6 episodios. Esta es la historia de la influencer australiana y gurú del "bienestar" en Instagram Belle Gibson, cuya rivalidad con otra estrella de las redes sociales se le va de las manos cuando miente sobre su cáncer mientras promueve una dieta milagrosa.
Reseña:
Debo confesar que no conocía este caso, después de ver la mini serie 6 horas seguidas, me puse a investigar y es bastante sorprendente a lo que alguien puede llegar por aprobación.
"Una historia real, basada en una mentira" es el eslogan de esta serie. Aunque Netflix le pone un toque de humor necesario en una trama como está, Belle Gibson es una chica con muchos problemas, problemas que nunca trató, siempre se sintió en segundo lugar y se inventó una historia donde ella es la protagonista. Se toca un tema muy delicado y esta chica sin importar las consecuencias de sus actos y pensando siempre es si misma, en mantenerse en el foco jugo con la esperanza de miles de personas en una etapa tan vulnerable como ser paciente de cancer, realmente es para analizar el poder de las redes sociales y cuidar a quién estamos dando fama, a quién le estamos siguiendo los pasos. Porque en este caso, detrás de las pantalla se ocultaba una chica mitomana, insegura, egoísta y despiadada.
No quiero entrar tanto en detalles de la historia para no hacerles más spoiler, así ustedes puedan verla y sacar sus propias conclusiones, pero hay algunos datos importantes que me gustaría aclarar, empezando porque se exagero un poco el número de seguidores tengo entendido, en realidad su comunidad no era tan grande, como se hace ver en la serie, aún así esta chica sin datos que corroboraran su historia logró escribir un libro, crear una aplicación y usar esta enfermedad para obtener beneficios.
Por otro lado Milla Blake, aunque también es una personaje basado en una historia real, no formaba parte de la vida de Belle, a penasque se conocían.
Luci no es real, es una representación de todos los afectados al seguir los pasos de esta "gurú" y la parte mas triste de todas es que el niño que Belle "ayuda" si existió, nunca recibió donación y murio en 2017.
Ahora hablemos de la actuación de Kaitlyn Dever es increíblemente detestable, no creo que llegues a conectar con este personaje, Pero está tan bien manejado, los gestos, las mentiras, y esa carita dulce que no te hace siquiera imaginar lo que está pasando por su cabeza.
En general considero que estuvieron muy acertados, el caso de Milla realmente me conmovió, estaba en una posición muy vulnerable y prefirió arriesgarse que seguir los pasos de un médico profesional, al final se retracta, pero ya el daño estaba hecho.
Les recomiendo ver la serie totalmente, inviertan 6 horas de su vida en ella porque aunque te deja un mal sentir, la ideal es tomar consciencia de este fenómeno y hacernos cargo. Si ya la vieron me cuentan que les pareció 👇

I must confess that I was not familiar with this case, after watching the mini series for 6 hours straight, I started to investigate and it is quite surprising what someone can do for approval.
"A true story, based on a lie" is the slogan of this series. Although Netflix adds a touch of necessary humor to a plot like this, Belle Gibson is a girl with many problems, problems that she never dealt with, she always felt second and invented a story where she is the protagonist. A very delicate subject is touched upon and this girl, regardless of the consequences of her actions and always thinking about herself, in staying in the spotlight played with the hope of thousands of people in a stage as vulnerable as being a cancer patient, it really is to analyze the power of social networks and take care of who we are giving fame to, who we are following in the footsteps of. Because in this case, behind the screen was hidden a mythomaniac, insecure, selfish and ruthless girl.
I don't want to go into the details of the story so as not to spoil it for you, so you can watch it and draw your own conclusions, but there are some important facts that I would like to clarify, starting with the fact that the number of followers was a bit exaggerated, as I understand it, in reality their community was not as large as it is made out to be in the series, yet this girl without data to corroborate her story managed to write a book, create an app and use this disease to make a profit.
On the other hand, Milla Blake, although she is also a character based on a true story, was not part of Belle's life, they barely knew each other.
Luci is not real, she is a representation of all those affected by following in the footsteps of this "guru" and the saddest part of all is that the child that Belle "helps" did exist, he never received a donation and died in 2017.
Now let's talk about Kaitlyn Dever's performance is incredibly detestable, I don't think you'll connect with this character, but it is so well handled, the gestures, the lies, and that sweet little face that makes you not even imagine what is going through her head.
In general I think they were very successful, Milla's case really moved me, she was in a very vulnerable position and preferred to take a risk than to follow in the footsteps of a professional doctor, in the end she retracts, but the damage was already done.
