One long overdue Korean series I decided to see and I'm taken through a series of reminder with it's full storyline, it's characters and comedy. I've heard so much about this series but I've heard nothing when I sat down to see it, I hope you understand what I mean.
It isn't a very old series compared to one I saw some weeks ago but it isn't recent like the "Queen of Tears" that had us tearing up lol. This series is on it's own one of the good ones to see, a fantasy series and one you'll enjoy.
"Hotel De Luna" is a 2019 series of 16 episodes, one that takes it's viewers back in time and back to the future, to the dead and to life, to sadness and to joy... It's a series of roller coaster feeling, no doubt. At a point, I was laughing when I'm supposed to be crying and scared when I'm supposed to be laughing lol.
After all the many recommendations about this series, I'm finally done with it and I'm only glad I've seen it, not that I wish I had seen it much earlier than I did. I've seen the ones I enjoyed more than it but it doesn't mean I won't recommend this to another and they won't love it.
The storyline goes like... A young woman ,Man Weol who felt wronged totally had slaughtered so many people and in search of a guest moon house, she found it but also became the owner of the place as her life got tired to a moon tree in the guesthouse. For many decades, she lives as the owner changing the names, the style and design of the guesthouse welcoming dead guests until it became Hotel De Luna.
In the present world, she makes a deal with a human intruder and years later, she welcomes her 99th human manager who made her go through hops to bring him to start working for her. From being scared of ghosts to being most useful manager, Ku Chang Su learns of a world outside what he knew before and he also falls in love.
The series shows a good number of ghosts who died wrongly and have to live in the guesthouse hoping for a revenge, some vengeful ghosts who took matters into their own hands and there are ghosts who made special requests and Man Weol made sure to rip off from the rich ones.
What caught my attention most which is very much expected by the writer, is the hotel. It was just a guesthouse, and the owner improved the building decades after decades to suit the present time as she has been there for too many years. It was in her 1300 years that she had it named Hotel De Luna and things began to change for her good although it took a while for her to accept it.
The hotel they used seem like one that really doesn't exist as the characters who came to visit from the human world made it seem but it is one of the hotel they do have and used for the series, I guess. A hotel with an ocean in it? Yeah, I know they take us elsewhere to say they have an ocean in their hotel lol.
The series is good really, the characters will remind of some other good characters too. Like the female lead, Man Weol reminds of the female lead in "It's Okay Not To Be Okay" lol. There are also supporting characters you'll just love as you watch others, they all had good enough screen time to make you love them.
There's more to say about this series but I'll stop here and read from what you think about it if you've seen it or at least read this review. It's a 8/10 from me, I enjoyed the series.

I really need to watch Hotel De Luna, I have seen so many short videos about it! There's so many Kdrama's I really need to start watching and one I need to finish xD
Haha I hope you succeed in starting and finishing one.
Hola @mar.ahama, buena tu reseΓ±a, me pesco, me encantan las series coreanas a lo que termine de ver una que me tiene atrapada la buscare.
Me alegro que te gusten, lo disfrutarΓ‘s si decides verlo.
Lol... Seriously? Queen of Tears had you in tears? Haha.
I can relate to hearing so much about a Kdrama and having it in your watchlist only to finally get to sit and watch the show and the show feels like you've heard nothing about it. Haha. Kdramas arr usually like that because there is just a few things you can hear from people about a show hhat runs for 12 or more episodes.
That's exactly what I imagine would happen when I finally get to watch the famous Queen of Tears. The biggest thing I know about the show is that Vincenzo made special appearance in it. I'm just trying to avoid spoilers until I get to watch the show. Haha.
As for Hotel De Luna, IU (the lead female character) killed it. She's also the female lead character in Moon Lovers and she is so good at blowing up any Kdrama she appears in. What's even more impressive is that she's more of a kpop musician than an actor yet she does really well in both acting and singing.
How did I miss replying to this comment?!
It did had me in tears and I thought I wouldn't even with the title like that lol.
Vincenzo appearance was a surprise for me really, I didn't see or read it anywhere that he appeared in the series before I watched it lol.
IU is a great actor but I'm forced to say I love her more as a singer, her songs are amazing!
Hahah... Now, I'm even more curious about the Queen of Tears. I need to dig into that ASAP. Haha.
